practice shorts question

I practice in running shorts and shirt. Very good with absorbing sweat. The

micro-fiber or whatever the material is.

This has been a problem for me too. I've found boxer-briefs to work

best. (That is the boxer style with the tighter leg). They tend to

keep everything in place, don't bunch up like boxers during

inversions, and have a little more air space and less rubbing than

regular briefs. I hope this helps. I guess if these aren't available

where you are (they're fairly common in the US), you could sew some

elastic onto the leg holes of a pair of boxers, for a similar effect.

Thanks to all who responded with advice on my practice shorts question. While I

waited for replies I decided to test using boxer shorts under my prana practice

shorts. That has worked because there is no binding. Actually I was able to do

forward bends better. My rashes are gone. One doctor gave me an antifungal

cream; the dermatologist gave me a different one with antifungal and

hydrocortisone, so yes, I agree that is the treatment. After two weeks I'm fine.

I need to shower right after practice. I'll consider the suggestions you all

gave me. So far I don't think I'm flashing during inversions because there is so

much material around the legs that it must be clinging to them. Maybe I'll ask

the girl that usually practices next to me to let me know if there is a problem

while I'm doing handstand or other inversions. I'm not sure that shorts with a

mesh brief underneath would work for me because rubbing while moving causes

problems. I was not familiar with boxer briefs. Yogaboys makes a cotton

compression practice short that you could wear under loose shorts.

 

Tom it was nice to practice with you last week during your visit to our shala.
