Guest guest
hi john, sorry for the late reply - keep at it - i was in the same boat once, and after a full ashtanga practice, i feel more emotionally and physically recharged and meditation helps me deal with things that i often used as escapism with drugs. i am now high after my session in the morning - keep at it, and this will help with the other limbs of yoga - remember that puttabhi jois says - you need to purify the body so you can purify the soul (or something like that). hope this helps, sophie dutch_c0urage <no_reply > wrote: Hi, I tend to feel drained when I am in other peoples company, which causes me to be a fairly quiet person. The problem has been exacerbated by a period of recreational drug use in the sense that I am much more self conscious now. I am new to ashtanga and have been doing five rounds of each surya namaskar per day followed by some pranayama. After each session, I feel more outgoing and less susceptible to other peoples energy but it tends to wear off after a short while. I was wondering if this increased confidence and energy boost from ashtanga becomes more sustained with increased practice? Also, has anyone else had similar experiences? Any input would be much appreciated. Namaste John For ideas on reducing your carbon footprint visit For Good this month.

Guest guest
I understand completely. I am the same way. However, when it comes to ashtanga, I find practice together builds the energy of the entire group. I am energized when I practice with others, and not from their loss thereof; it's strangely mutual gain. When I practice alone, I am wrecked by I am done. As for everyday life, there are mantras and pranayamas to shield your energy from being sapped by those around you. I am no expert on that matter though, but that is an avenue you might research, as I plan to as well. ashtangayoga , dutch_c0urage <no_reply wrote: > > Hi, > > I tend to feel drained when I am in other peoples company, which causes > me to be a fairly quiet person.
