Guest guest
hi there, a book that was an amazing help - Ashtanga Yoga for Women - Michaela Clarke - I used this religiously during my pregnancy - i found out i was pregnant when i was 13.5 weeks so i continued my practice until about 8 months, and then went to a completely gentle mellow practice in the final month. but please try your library or buy this book - i still use it now - it is my little bible! take care and love your journey - listen to your body above all! Guest guest
I have often wondered about yoga for women - as I understand it - yoga was developed by & for men. As a 53 year old woman who has been doing yoga for only 3 years, I am learning but not proficient at arm balances. I currently have a sore right shoulder, and I tend to try to push through it rather than rest it. Should women be concentrating on different poses than men? Should we be doing modifications routinely or trying to build strength in weak areas? If the book discusses this then I should get it. I hope to be doing yoga the rest of my life!!
