Guest guest
Hi everyone. I'm having some unidentifiable stomach pain, high in the center of my abdomen and am wondering if some overly ambitious second-series backbends could be to blame? Food/drink has no effect; sounds like stretch (ha!), but i'm wondering if i injured/tore something deep. i just can't imagine it would be an ulcer. My MD is stumped. Anyone have any experience/advice to share? I'm quite uncomfortable... Thanks, Kathi
Guest guest
Hey Kathi, Just a thought.. second series is all about cleansing the nervous system.. this will increase the flow of energy.. perhaps it is some kind of energy blockage? If so keep practicing and it will pass.. I have had many different kinds of energetic experiences in my body, one is a fizzy kind of sensation in the stomach which has moved up to my solar plexus and stopped there creating a kind of blocked feeling. A bit like when you swallow water with air trapped in your throat and it goes down really slowly. Although with too much air that can be painful.. the energy blockage at the solar plexus is not painful but can definately feel uncomfortable and perhaps a little disconcerting at first. If the 'pain' was brought on through practice i am confident that continued, consistent practice will eleviate it. It may well just be part of a process your body is going through. Just some thoughts. Take care mart ashtangayoga: kkizirnis: Wed, 7 Nov 2007 02:11:32 +0000ashtanga yoga abdominal strain? Hi everyone. Guest guest
Hey! If you have just started doing this back bends and having this uncomfortable feelings, it appears to be normal due to shock to the body and its system. However, if this persist, please take a step back to have an overview of what is going on. Also, listen to the body whilst practicing asana as overly carried out on the physical side may result in injury. Take it easy, all will come in good time with practise.
