Guest guest
Namaste, Ashtanga Yoga is not a family, or a person and it is not static. I respect all the traditions and Gurus, but i think that Ashtanga is complete when it has philosophy alignments, pranayama, meditation, mantras, etc. Each teacher is different and we must respects it but for me an Ashtanga teacher is complete if he practice and knows all the above. I love Ashtanga but because I saw these needs I started Iyengar, kundalini, vinyasa and lot of inner yoga practices (like pranayama, meditation, Yoga Nidra, Reiki, etc) to make it complete for me and my students. Also I use every system can makes my practice better, like cardio exercises, contortion, small weights, without to loose the yoga principals. I like to do experiments. Yoga is a tree always is growing. When u hear a teacher to say that is an authenticity, you must think that he has a big ego or he wants your money. I read that Ashtanga asanas executed without to have prepare our body before and I don't agree. May I have an explanation about this? What you mean my friend? Also that lot of injuries occurred during practice is not because of Ashtanga System, is about egos. I believe that Ashtanga Yoga and series are so beautiful and unique. Our duty is to make it complete. Yours Garudananda
