Hi Paul,

Well, there are sooooo many but I have to say I usually still recommend the

" classics " . The Practice Manual by David Swenson and Ashtanga Yoga by John

Scott. They are very different in that David Swenson gives just a bit of

information per asana however he gives modifications if you are not able to do

the full position. John gives a lot of detail per asana and no room for

modifications. I like to fall somewhere in the middle of the 2 ways of

approaching the practice so they tend to work well together. As for

DVD's...David Swenson's and Richard Freeman's.

Good luck!

Also, it is still very important to find a teacher, even if it's just for a

private lesson from time to time or a workshop to understand the practice on a

deeper level and to correct any potentially harmful habits.

Hi Paul

John Scott has a great DVD out as well as book - there is also www.ashtanga.info

- I use this as it is step by step online but is more visual than descriptive.

All the best, take care and keep up the practice:)
