Guest guest
Alma: Janusirsasana is a challenging pose. Requires a lot of opening in hips, quadratus laborum, spinal extensors, etc. There is no quick fix, just practice and patience. That being said, you might try sitting on a blanket to rotate your pelvis forward a bit. If the bent knee is not comfortably on the ground you might try placing a blanket or block under it. -t On Mon, Jul 13, 2009 at 12:08 AM, Alma Siobhmhaith < universal_mother_nua wrote: > > > Thanks Tom. > All of your advice is really fab... Guest guest
Hello, I don't know how much this helps you but I always had a lot of ease in Janu A and B and then I got my knees replaced and noticed that, very oddly, it became one of the more painful poses. I think it was a soft tissue issue. ashtangayoga , Alma Siobhmhaith <universal_mother_nua wrote: > > Thanks Tom. > All of your advice is really fab... Guest guest
Waw you got your knees replaced and you practice Ashtanga still, thats amazing! Do you mind sharing more of your exprerience. How do you find lotus postures now, like Mari B & D. Reason i ask is because i have knee issues as well, i am 3 months post my second knee arthroscopy and i am currently practicing up to Janu C. I know the Mari's will come with time and i'm in no rush but i am fascinated how someone with knee replacments is dealing with the seated sequence, because i could be there in the future :-) Initially when i started ashtanga i found watching people doing the advanced postures inspirational, now after a few years of practice i find stories of poeple overcoming physical ''setbacks' and still practicing ashtanga inspirational. Thanks, Niall. --- On Tue, 14/7/09, missychecker <mchecker wrote: missychecker <mchecker ashtanga yoga Re: more hips and Janu Sirsasana ashtangayoga Tuesday, 14 July, 2009, 4:07 AM Hello, I don't know how much this helps you but I always had a lot of ease in Janu A and B and then I got my knees replaced and noticed that, very oddly, it became one of the more painful poses.
