Guest guest
Hi again. I never participated at a mysore style class. What will I expect? Everyone is doing there own thing at their own pace? And a teacher hops by every now and then if he has the time to correct one or the other thing? Or for whst exactly do you pay? thanks a lot Alma
Guest guest
Traditionally, in a mysore style class, people are not simply doing their own thing. The are given the series by the teacher. For example, on a first day a new student may simply be taught sun salutations followed by standing poses, the number being determined by the students facility. As the student becomes more comfortable/capable, there are given additional poses until, finally they are practicing the entire series. Then, when ready, they are introduced to the next series -- again one or a few poses at a time. Also, as the student is practicing, the teacher offers instruction and adjustments where deemed necessary and/or appropriate. The practice is thus " tuned " to the ability of each student, or, put another way, each student is afforded the opportunity to practice at or to the limit of their ability.
