Guest guest
Hi, anyone have experience with or knowledge of asana practice after or during recovery from a herniated cervical disc? I have severe herniation @c5-6, have been horizontal now for 3.5 weeks. Any asana is out of the question at the moment ( tried yesterday, paying today). Hoping to avoid surgery, making some progress. So much for those second series headstands : ( thanks! Kathi

Guest guest
Hi there - not to minimize the herniated disc issue, you should look into trigger point therapy for the muscles along the neck and shoulder area that may be pulling on the vertebra itself. You might want to google in your area who knows this type of therapy that might relieve a lot of the pain associated with this injury. To learn more about trigger point therapy, you can go to this website mypain.com or just youtube myofascial trigger point therapy in your area.
