Guest guest
I have been noticing that many members here are dealing with serious injury of the knee or neck (dislocated discs). Is is possible that a severe Ashtanga practice may be responsible for that? It kind made me think and wonder whether it is dangerous to pursue regular practice... Do your bone-injuries come from the practice? Thanks Alma
Guest guest
Ashtanga, like any yoga, without attention to alignment, to breath, an awareness of when you are pushing, and an awareness of and attention to your limits can result in serious injury. Because this is a daily practice, even the smallest pain/injury can become a repetitive stress injury. That being said, ashtanga, like any yoga, can be practice in a completely safe and restorative manner although, typically this is easier to accomplish in a mysore-style practice than in a led class. Guest guest
A lot of injuries are a result of ego. A lot of people are not l Listening to their bodies and push themselves beyond what is healthy. Shanna
