Guest guest
People will tell you that its because you stand more chance of being injured on those days. That's never made much sense to me. I asked Sharath once, and he said it was because they (Brahmins) had to do lots of extra pujas on moon days, and it didn't leave enough time to practice as well. Also, its good to have extra days off. Six days a week, 52 weeks a year, is just too much, said Sharath. ashtangayoga , JiNN <jinnproduction wrote: > > Hi everyone! > > I just read that ashtanga yoga should not be practiced on half and full moon > days without any explanation. > > Anyone know the reason for this? > > With Love, > Mike > > >
Guest guest
Hi... I never heard 1/2 moon days off. It is the pwer of the New Moon and Full Moon that you can't practice " Mysore " . It is to prevent youu from Pushing yourself too hard on those days... More chance of you injuring yourself. Thus your practice Suffers the Consequences. That doesn't mean that you can't do a led class or a more contemplative Style on those days. I do Meditaion, My Mantra's. As far as Practice goes, I Just do My Suryanamaskara A & B Five times each. No Asana's. Where did this Half moon thing come from. It is New to me...
