Pinched Nerve

Hello,

A couple of months ago, I hurt myself while trying to do an asana without

warming up. While standing I went into a deep backbend that seems to have

pinched a nerve in my neck/shoulder region. It does hurt a lot at times,

does anyone have any recommendations of what might help?

Regards,

Nitesh

Doctor visit? I once chipped a vertebrae lifting weights and the loose piece

was pressing on a nerve. Fascinating experience...:). If you have damaged

the nerve, it may hurt for awhile. If you are placing direct pressure on it

through the movement of some skeletal structure, you may be continuing to

cause damage. If it's just musculoskeletal, the doc could rule out the more

lasting concerns.

I would try to get the swelling down with ice and ibuprofen and slowly come back

to your mat
