Guest guest
Hi folks, Does anyone know of a teacher in western North Carolina who teaches true Ashtanga yoga? I have had a really hard time finding anyone and have been looking for a while. Thanks! Mary Alice

Guest guest
Hi Mary Alice, I tried a search, and here is the result. I don't know anything about their teachings of (true) Ashtanga, and since it says they " are currently looking for a teacher in the lineage " ... but at least there seems to be a shala in Asheville: http://ashtangayogaasheville.com/ Greensboro: www.mindbodyfitnessyoga.com (Ashtanga/Vinyasa/Flow/Yin/Anusara/Meditation) - David Williams listed as guest teacher. I'm not impressed with the Ashtanga Yoga they offer at studios in e.g. Charlotte, Winston-Salem and Black Mountain; it looks like one or two days a week, and in no way a daily Mysore style practice. The only alternative seems to be lots of home practice and have an eye out for the occasional workshop. Or move to a big city like Miami, New York or some place as such, with great Ashtanga shalas. So, I see your predicament †" good teachers can be hard to find. Maybe you could put an add out for anyone who is in the same situation in western N.C., and find a smaller group to practice together with, at least once a week? /Qvintus ashtangayoga , " mary alice " <maryalicelamb wrote: > > Hi folks, > > Does anyone know of a teacher in western North Carolina who teaches true Ashtanga yoga? Guest guest
Thanks everyone--I think that I have made contact with a group practicing Mysore and a teacher that does one class per week--many, many thanks! Mary Alice
