Guest guest
Sharath Rangaswamy teaches Parivritta Parsvakonasana as part of the Led Primary Series both on his DVD as well as throughout the 2-week NYC workshop a year ago. I have never taken a Primary Series Led class where the pose was omitted. While Gregor Maehle is an accomplished Ashtangi and his book seems to be quite well respected, i don't see why someone should not attempt the pose. There are modified versions of it (See David Swenson's Primary Series DVD and Practice Manual) one can choose to achieve proficiency in this pose. I was taught that it is a good preparatory asana for Marichiasana D. As far as what is the most difficult pose of the standing sequence is, i think this varies from person to person - we are all different. It is a challenging pose no question though.
