Guest guest
It looks odd that when communist party of India in democratic India objects for a course in even Astrology/jYotish claiming it as too religious/not-suitable for secular India, other hand another democratic nation(mother of democracies) and mostly christian nation having successful university course on specific hindu tradition - SriVidya. Reason for this too, only Lord Shiva knows. How playful is our Lord. Another play of the Lord. Lots of Upanishads' opening shanti shlokam. Om pUrNamadaH, pUrNamidam pUrNAt pUrNamudacyatE pUrNasya pUrNamAdAya pUrNamEva-avaSiShyatE. Mathematically 0 - 0 = 0. which my 3+ year old son understands. Will I be able to understand/experience complete meaning of this verse in this lifetime? The above is the post somewhere I read but the question looks very very impressive. There is very good explanation for the above shanti sloka :- Om pUrNamadah pUrNamidam pUrNAt pUrNamudacyatE pUrNasya pUrNamAdAya pUrNamEvAvashiSyatE Om shAntih, shAntih, shAntihiFullness and Completeness are the nearest meanings in the English language for this word. But, 'Purnatva' goes far beyond these meanings. 'Fullness' can indicate a state of satiation and the word 'Completeness' can denote a state arrived through the 'Sum of the parts'. But 'Purnatva' is far from these two conditional states. 'Purnatva' is a state of profound realization, when the sense of limitation, as "Individuality" drops off, as a redundant vestige from one's consciousness. Any extent of acquisition OR renunciation cannot hasten the arrival of 'Purnatva'! When the microcosm totally dissolves into the state of Macrocosm, as a sugar doll dissolves into water, 'Purnatva' is THAT non-verbalized state. Following peace invocation 'Sloka' in the 'Isavasya Upanishad' most brilliantly conveys the total import of 'Purnatva'. "THAT is Whole; this is Whole; from the Whole the whole becomes manifest. From the Whole, when the whole is negated, what remains is again the Whole." ( 0 - 0 = 0 ) ( 0 + 0 = 0 ), In this Sloka, the word 'THAT' indicates the totality of Macrocosm. The word 'that' indicates the infinitely teeming microcosm. Thus, if one substitutes accordingly, the whole stunning import of WHOLENESS is revealed! 'Poornatva' is such all devouring FULLNESS! This is wonderfull can some one try elaborate on this.. Chandra Sekhar
Guest guest
I would say "0" (zero) is Spirit. Spirit is infinite. A point in Spirit is also "0", dimensionless. . From this point in Spirit ("0") the manifested existence began. Now in the manifested energy every point is again a point of creation. So it all began from "0" and now in the manifested universe every point also is a "0". Amazing! The original "0" remains and from it manifests infinite "0s". Another angle: The beginning is from "1" (one). From this "1" many forms came to be. Personally I do not get involved in numbers because numbers can be manipulated by use of any kind of logics and meaning attached to it. When it comes to creation I prefer dealing with energies. Around late 1970, "bubble chamber" experiments by MIT in USA and another such experiment in Germany about at the same time, discovered that in 10 –26 of a second creation and anihilation occurs spontaneously in space. Matter, light and anti-matter is created and destroyed in that short span of time. Because one cannot observe "that short span of time", one does not see anything and so space was said to be empty, nothing, till the day they did could observe what was happening in "that short span of time (10 –26 of a second). After this discovery the quantum physists decalared that 'the space is the most choatic state of energy ever known'. Thus, "Now in the manifested energy every point is again a point of creation. " backs up the wisdom that microcosm is a relfection of the macrocosm. "As above so below" is another way of saying this. This wisdom is found in esoteric science of Chinese, Hindus, Hebrews and Egyptians and also have been known independantly by many individuals as they ascend. As for politics of humans, its a laugh.
