Meaning:

Those with congee (porridge) bowl (buddists) and

those with the discipline of eating from hand (jains)

- the mean ones of harsh words do not hail, they say.

(However) wise celestials worshipped and for them

poison ate throat Lord is namaHshivAya.

 

Notes:

1. Those of narrow mind full of dogma do not

worship Lord shiva and they only talk as if great.

Whereas the wise know the worth of the God and

they worship the Lord chanting namaHshivAya

and get blessed.

2. maNDai - bowl; kaiyarkaL - of the discipline;

(c.f. kai thAn n^ekiza viDEn - thiruvAcakam)

miNDar - dogmatic; viravuthal - to hail;

vinycai - skilled/wise.
