Guest guest
Dearest Divine Nataraj, You are doing a wonderful job. However I have suggestions to make if you think you would take it in the right spirit. Instead of giving the details of already known temples, there are several temples which are in a highly dilapidated condition and which require urgent restoration and renovation. Don't you think that it would be better if such temples are brought to light. For your information there is a temple in Thepperumalnallur village, Thirunageswaram Railway station near kumbakonam, which is the original parihara stala for Rahu-Kethu and Guru. Here Dakshinamoorthy is called annadhana dakshinamoorthy. The moolavar is Kasi Viswanathar with an emarald lingem embedded inside the lingam and ambal vedanta nayaki. This is the only temple where archana is done with rudraksha to the main deities. I had visited this temple several times and spent about a lakh of rupees to provide overhead tank, water pump, all abisheka and pooja utensils, upachara items, electric fans, salary for the archaka and cleaning people and even prepared an estimate of around 60 lakhs for renovatio. I had also collected two serpent skins left on the siva linga by the cobra visiting the temple. Sunlight falls directly on the sivalinga. The work did not progress thereafter because of lack of funds. We do not have even funds to pay the government for approval of the renovation plan including bribes, without which no file moves. What is the use in making people go to big temples where income is already there. Such old and dilapidated temples should be renovated, employment for village people given so that they will get income from the temple and also keep them up in good order. I am sure you will kindly take my request in the right spirits. Regards, S.SHANGARANARAYANAN

Many months ago I had planned to start writing on Siva temples of South India and did not proceed on this at all. Hearing your weekly podcasts, I will now start on my work from today and with Acharyal's blessings, complete it this time round Ranganath Ps. If you can please send me your weekly podcasts, I will be most obliged
