Guest guest
Dear Sumant I am not discouraging you to pursue the sadhana of Pratyangira. I am just giving the pros and cons of this upasana. If you have qualified guru, you are welcome to pursue this. But, first of all, one must understand the guru tatva and who is fit to be called as gurus. In this cyber age, every tom, dick and harry taking upadesa of panchadasi, shodasi claim to be srividya upasakas. Without doing proper purascharana of gayatri, proper tarpana of panchadasi, bala one should not even dare to approach Pratyangira, which is a kritya devata. There are several mantras dedicated to this devi in Atharva veda which has to be recited with proper svaras. Moreover, this upasana is pursued for atma raksha and for abhicharika prayogas. (I think to do these prayogas one needs to have mantra siddhi). And first of all, who is purna diksha guru now a days. Kanchi maha periyavar one told me the essence of purna diksha. The sishya during the process of purna diksha, experiences a vision of himself alighted on a swan in sudha sagara of sahasrara where his guru on another swan at chit chandramandala of sahasrara offering his helping hand to this sishya. Thus, the guru offering his helping hand to sishya makes him cross samsara sagara by after undergoing all the rites of purna diksha. This sort of diksha vidhana is carried out from guru down to the sishya. And during the course of this diksha, guru intitiates the sishya which is called 'Maha Vedha'. This arouses the kundalini piercing the shat chakras to chit chandra mandala of sahasrara. Now, tell me sumant, how many gurus are there who initiate the sishyas in this order. Morever, Prayangira is not a moksha pradayani vidya unlike Lalitha. This is not among dasa mahavidyas. Hence, cannot be considered equal to Lalitha!!! The guru of Kalyanananda Bharati of sringeri virupaksha peeta was a pratyangira sadhaka but could not attained siddhi and got adverse effects. The siddhas of this upasana are few like Mouna swamigal of courtallam, chidananthanatha of Guhananda Mandali etc. First of all, how many of us are doing sincere upasana of sandhya without doing prayaschita arghya pradhana. One should know one's limits and for this i think one's atma is the saakshi. Regards, sriram Forgot the famous last words? Access your message archive online. Guest guest
Hi Venkat, > The guru of > Kalyanananda Bharati of sringeri virupaksha peeta > was a pratyangira sadhaka but could not attained > siddhi and got adverse effects. I do not know their history, and hence these questions: how did others recognize that they did not attain siddhi? Who were able to determine certain developments were adverse effects of such incomplete sadhana? I ask these because there were a few other such incidences in the past 20 years I have heard and to me, the statements have always been 'Gaali maathu' (as they say in kannada) or words of mouth. I would really like to know how these judegements were made and who makes them? And, if the situations are genunine, how one can differentiate between what happened in the lives of Sri Ramakrishna and Ramana Maharishi.. Thanks, -gopal The siddhas of this > upasana are few like Mouna swamigal of courtallam, > chidananthanatha of Guhananda Mandali etc. > > First of all, how many of us are doing sincere > upasana of sandhya without doing prayaschita arghya > pradhana.
