Regarding Lord Narasimha

Dear satish,

It is really a pleasure that you have mentioned our beloved acharyal of

sringeri and his nrisimha upasana. I am writing this piece of information as i

was overwhelmed with devotion towards acharyas of sringeri regarding this

nrisimha upasana.

This narasimha dhyana along with narasimha purva and uttara tapini upanishads

are the daily parayana granthas of the acharyal. In fact, the deity Narasimha

is the chief upasana devata of sringeri peeta along with srividya. The

narasimha anustup mantra and salagrama is being handed down from guru to sishya

traditionally. HH Abhinava Vidya Tirtha swamigal once narrated an incident

which was recorded by Mr. Umesh of Chennai. Once when chandrasekhara bharati

swamigal was giving upadesa of this mantra to sri mahasannidhanam and during

this process his holiness put his hand on the head of sri abinava vidya tirtha.

He was taken aback and moved backwards and in reverence folded hands to sri

abhinava vidya tirtha swamigal. What actually happended was during the process

of initiation, in place of abhinava vidya tirtha, the lord narasimha assumed the

physical form!!! Such is the affinity of acharyals of sringeri towards

narasimha.

Glory to shankara

Glory to the acharya parampara of sringeri

Glory to sarada

By best wishes to you and all the devotees of mother divine on the occassion

of navaratri.

With regards,

Sriram.

Namaste,

Sri Sriram has well described the devotion of the Sringeri Acharyals

towards Bhagavan Sri Narasimha. I want to add a small but

interesting information regarding Sri Abhinava Vidya Tirtha

Mahaswamigal. There is a rare and beautiful picture published in a

book, which is not in print any more, where Mahaswamigal is seen

conversing with Sri Narasimha.

Namaste,

it would be nice if the picture can be uploaded to the Ambaal website,

it is worth noting the nyasa for Narasimha where Narasimha is referred to as

Maharudra and also later on the Rik kadrudraya prachetase... also appears
