Guest guest
Hello, I am neither a doctor of medicine, an expert in vedic and later sanskrit, nor one who is intimate to Gods.. But, like many other over many decades if not for 3 centuries, I get uncomfortable when people (experts in one way or the other, unlike me), start interpreting sastras, vedas etc. to suit the dicta of modern science or medicine. As an example, microbes related to rudra. " Rudra makes one cry in the end, so do microbes ...hence microbes are equal to rudra " (quotes and summary mine). now, all microbes are not bad; our stomachs, mouth and intestine have zillions of microbes and many hundredss types (species) of microbes which are essential for our living. That is why when you take an antibiotic, at least in many cases, doctors suggests vitamin-rich food supplements or capsules to compensate for the loss of these beneficial microbes. then, according to the logic stated above, is there a good rudra and bad rudra? Is rudra destructable by some material object (equivalent to antibiotics)? Then, going by the same line, good rudra for one could become bad rudra for a few others? how about non-microbial, multicellular parasitic worms that infest old foods and breads - are they many rudras fused together? Are some people more powerful than rudra (resistant to microbes) than the other (highly susceptible to microbes)? The whole logic falls flat on its own face for a sneeze. Starting from Max muller the rogha of misinterpreting sastras to fit the ugly shoes of westerners and western-educated easterners has become established. To me, whether microscopic or macroscopic, the Divine is fine as it comes, whichever form it chooses. In fact, if I am a microbe,I would like my rudra come to me as a super microbe, or an ant, as super-ant. But if I am actually seeking Him as He is, I would definitely not like to see Him come in the form of 'western-educated-and-I-believe-anything-in-shastras-should-be-interpreted-to -fit-the-shoes-of-modern-science' person, as I am afraid I might miss recognizing Rudra because I would run away from such person. What a loss it would be, alas! -gopal --- ymoharir <ymoharir wrote: > Meaning - Rudra is the one who makes everyone cry at > the end. > We all know that microbes multiply very rapidly > through Cross > contamination.
