Guest guest
Dear devotees, One of my close friends expressed his problem to me regarding the dravya suddhi or the purificatory process for the water which is used for worship. Because the water connection we get is either the municipal water or the borewell. And moreover, the water supply is every alternative day in cities. Even I too faced the same problem. Hence, I thought this would be useful for many of us members in the forum. Most of us face the same problem as either some of the members stay outside India or in metropolitan cities of India. Procuring Ganga Water for abhisheka is impossible for us. And most of us may be staying either in flats or colonies where municipal water is provided every alternate day. So, the best possible solution is after donning pattu (silk) cloths, collect the water in silver vessel which is used as kalasa. Perform the puraana achamana, sroutha achamana and sruthi achamana. Perform bhuta suddhi and Pranayama. Chant Guru Parampara stotra. Then place the silver vessel before you and invoke the 7 sacred waters, perform matrika nyasa. Invoke the agni, surya and Chandra kalaas. One has to show the mudras of Garuda and Ankusa. This is mandatory as this mudra (gesture) takes out the poisonous substance in the Kalasa and makes it pure. If one has the Sankha (Conch), it is well and good. Perform the sankha puja and add a little of the sankha jala into the Kalasa. This is the process of purification of the water which is collected from tap. The water, thus, purified is used for Paadya, Arghya, Achamana and abhisekha to the idols. Without undergoing these purificatory rites, one incurs the sin / dosha worshipping the devatas with poison. And above all, one's bhavana and chitta suddhi is most important. With regards, sriram Now you can chat without downloading messenger. Click here to know how.
