Dear devotees of sri maata,

Hope these words of mine would be useful for you in your antaryaga paddati.

Devi Upasana in the form of Antaryaga is prohibited on Amavaasya, Uttarayana

Punya Kala and Dakshinayana Punya Kala. The reason behind this is as follows:

Samayacharis worship the devi at Sahasrara. The Chit Chandra Mandala at

Sahasrara Chakra has 16 kalas like the Chandra mandala of brahmanda. The 16th

kala of Chandra mandala is called Shodasi Kala / Saada Kala / Dhruva kala /

Nitya Kala. With the help of the amrita or ambrosia of 15 kalas, the 16th

Kala is worshipped. During the Antaryaga worship, samayacharis taste the

nector of these 15 kalas of chit Chandra mandala. Given below are the Chandra

kalas in Sukla Paksha and Krishna Paksha.

1 Amavaasya

One can see that the Chandra kalas are same corresponding to Sukla Paksha and

Krishna Paksha except on Amavaasya. During the Amavaasya or New Moon Day, Surya

Nadi and Chandra Nadi of Ida & Pingala gets united at Tamomaya (Darkness)

Mooladhara. In pindanda this is called Tamomaya state or Andhaka (dark) state.

The distance between sun and moon is zero. In Brahmanda also, the physical sun

and moon also come in the same line. Hence, at Mooladhara, this state is called

‘A-MA’. ‘MA’ means “the form of Kala which is ready for vriddhi (expansion) and

Kshaya (contraction)”. So, ‘A-MA’ means the form or state which is eternal and

not having the vikaras of kshaya and vriddhi. This form is the para sodasi /

sadaa / dhruva kala.

Since, samayacharis worship this 16th kala with the help of 15 kalas of sukla

paksha, there is no kala left for them to worship the sodasi. In this state, if

upasana is pursued, the 16th kala which is left out dissolves and there is the

danger of shedding his mortal coil as there is no kala left for sustenance.

Hence, Amavaasya is prohibited for worship of Sodasi for Samayacharis.

Samayachara means ‘SA+MAYA’ ie., Union of Sodashi with Para Siva. Since, Para

Siva or Prakasa holds this 16th Kala of Sodasi, he is called 17th Kala in Tantra

Sastra. This 16th Kala is the picture shown at the crown of the head of Siva in

the photos and images of siva. This 16th Kala is the Srichakra for Samayachari.

This 16th Kala is being worshipped with the help of 15 kalas of Chit Chandra

mandala which is the 15 Bija Aksharas of Panchadai (KA E I LA HRIM, HA SA KA HA

L HRIM, S KA LA HRIM).

Now, for Kaulas, the place of worship is Mooladhara which is the region of

darkness. They worship the ‘Bhaga’ or Kundalini at Mooladhara and Svadhistana

chakras which are tamo maya.

Hence, Antaryaga worship of Srichakra is prohibited for Samaya School on

Amavaasya, Uttarayana Punya Kaala (Makara Sankranti), Dakshinayana Punya Kaala

(Karkataka Sankranti).

With regards,

sriram.
