Legend

says that ThirumangaiAzhwar was very sad to see the small size of the

image of Lord here and Lord pacified him that he can find an imposing

image in the sanctum of Thirukannamangai.There is also a purana on

battle between Aadishesha and Garuda linked to this place.

 

The

annual Brahmotsavam is being celebrated during the tamil month of

vaikasi and Ananthaazhawar festival on suklapaksha ekadesi during the

month of maasi.
