Guest guest
Dear satish, As you mentioned there is no thumb rule for the samputikarana but again it all depends on the objective of the upasaka and his kamya prayoga (what he wants to achieve) or to achieve faster results. For example, i have seen vedic scholars using the samputa of anjaneya mantra with Manyu Suktam. In some parts of Andhra Desa, Nrisimha Anushtup mantra is used as Samputa for Manyu Suktam and some use Subramanya Shadakshari mantra for samputa of manyu suktam. But the objective is same: Satru Paraajaya or Defeat of enemies or victory in court cases. Parayana of Devi Sapthasathi is done with Navakshari Samputa; some people do the samputa of Panchadasi / Sodashi. Again the sampradaya bheda. I asked regarding this renowned vedic scholars Kuppa Lakshmavadhani and Yanamandra Yagneshwara Somayaji, Uppuluri Ganapati Sastry who performed Jyotistoma and Paundarika Yagna under the supervision of Kanchi Mahaswami. They said that instead of doing the samputikara, perform the respective moola mantra japa 108 times that has been taken as upadesa from the gurunatha and do whichever parayanas you want (manyu suktam / Chandi Sapthasathi. These samputikaranas are just like the feats of the upasaka which could prove dangerous. I think i could convey you with my little knowledge. But the best is to follow one's guru sampradaya.
