Guest guest
Dear devotee, To be precise and simple, sadhana is a holistic and integral approach towards self realisation whereas japa is a part of sadhana which involves chanting of the name or mantra of one's chosen / personal God. Japa, practice of yogic postures, meditation, service to one's gurunatha, worship, study of scriptures and blah blah blah are just means for mental purification. The actual sadhana or spiritual pursuit starts after that. The sadhana culminates in identifying oneself with one's chosen diety where one's ego merges with universal ego. This is sadhana.
