So I request people to kindly refrain from giving labels to this practice as it is not an easy topic. To give an idea: Ex: One(not the only opinion) popular opinion is that vAmAchAra is meant only for advanced upAsaka-s who have great degree of self control who are free from the desire to drink or eat meat. Since we are more focused on samaya/daxina achara-s as Sridhar rightly pointed out let us not dwell on this topic much. > My Great Grandmother is Smt. >Karra Visalakshi, a great >srividyopasaka. Shri Ganapati Muni himself obtained a secret tArA vidya from a great upAsaka in the North by name Suresha Mishra(is the name correct?). When he recieved the vidya he was told that he is probably the first one to take this vidya to the south of vindhya mountains. Guest guest
Dear Satish Ji Well said. For every path there is the relevant adhikarathwam to it. Therefore if one is opposed to another on finer matters , what is important to say is , that this path is not applicable to me and to focus on his path only. Even the spirits which are used in Visheargya, the satstras prohibits to consume Not more than just an Uddarini ( Half Teaspoon) and to take it without the proper samskaras to it attracts hell.( As per Bhavanopanishad ) I am no way connected to these Practices , but out of respect to all these types of margas I invariably engage in a discussion with individuals practicing it , for knowledge sake. Last Month when I was in Kolkotta for the Ganga Sagar Mela, I had an opportunity to go to TARA PEET which is 220 KM from the city and is located over the burial ground. Ambaa Ji is pleasing like Kaali but here the entire cheek is blood stained and looking forward for Her grace was an wonderful experience and while standing in the Q I saw a dead body being carried to the burial ground and the local Bengalees told me that the dharshan of a deadbody before entering the temple was very auspicious. Jai Tara Jai Tara the words of the devotees still Echoes in my ears when I think of that trip.
