Guest guest
Dear balaji, There is a wonderful rendering of Sri Sri Chandi by Swami Harshananda, a senior monk at Bangalore of Ramakrishna Order. There are 4 sets of CDs / 4 sets of cassettes. A wonderful and pleasing tone indeed. It can be found in any Ramakrishna Mutt Branch. Another rendering is by Swami Krishnananda Saraswathi, a disciple of Swami Sivananda Saraswathi, Rishikesh, Divine Life Society. It is also good. Swami Chidananda of the same order has written a short profile on the Devi Mahatyam. These can be found in Divine Life Society (DLS) branches. As regards the Devi Mahatyam Book with commentary, Sri S.Sankaranarayan (a disiciple of Sri TV Kapali Sastry of Aurobindo Ashram) has published. It is a wonderful book which and can be found it Pondichery Ashram. If you can understand sanskrit, there is no greater book than the Bhaskaraya's commentary on it which is called " Gupthavathi " . Motilal Banarasi Das Publishers have printed it. It can be found in any Chowkhamba Book Stall. If you know telugu, then Sadhana Grandha Mandali of Tenali, Andhra Pradesh has printed 4 volumes of Sapthasathi with beautiful commentary of Sri Sriyanandanatha (Eswara Sathyanarayana Sastry of Srikakulam), a great srividyopasaka and dikshitar. I would suggest only these books for reading. Other than these, some of the esoteric secrets of sapthasathi upasana has to be learnt directly from one's gurunatha. With regards, Sriram.
