Guest guest
Respected Lalitha, I won’t delve deep into the esoteric sense of the bala mantra as this has to be learnt directly from guru since srividya is a guptha vidya. But for your academic interest, I am sharing my information with you. For further reading please refer “Kamakalavilasa”. Entire cosmos is a product of Nada and Teja ie., Sound and Illumination. Nada is Vimarsa swarupa which is called Sakti and Teja is Illumination which is Siva Swarupa. Vimarsa is also called Para-Sakti ie., the power which is of the form of Para – Nada swarupa with Parama Siva. Entire seed of creation is in Para Nada which is held by Siva who is called Prakasa. When there is creation, this Para becomes Pashyanti. Pashyanti becomes Madhyama. Madhyama becomes Vaikhari. And lo! the entire creation shines before us in the form of 50 Matrikas (16 vowels & 34 consonants). So, the Para Nada along with Parama Siva when thinks of becoming many becomes Pashyanti (Aim); Pashyanti becomes Madhyama (Klim) and Madhyama becomes Vaikhari (Sauh). This Sauh projects forth entire 36 principles of creation which is this entire cosmos. Since, this Para Nada is Kameshwari and Parama Siva is Kameshwara, the Purana says that Bala is the daughter of this divine pair. Now, the job of upasaka is to revert back his mind towards this divine pair Kameswari-Kameswara. That is, with intense Karma Anushtana he has to cleanse his mind so that the mind which is by nature extrovert has to be introvert for Antarmukha Samaradhana. Now, the Bala Mantra comes to the rescue of this upasaka. He has to constantly reflect on Viloma – Anuloma (reverse order) to make the extrovert mind introvert. And hence, mind has to be brought back to source from 36 principles to the Para. This is the secret of Anuloma upasana. Bala Upasaka has to reflect on: Aham Brahma Asi : Brahmaiva Aham Asmi. (Bala Viloma + Anuloma) By constant reflection on this bhava, the Bala Mantra makes the upasaka determined for release from Bondage of Samsara (phenomenal existence). When this bhava of intense vairagya arises in his mind, he is given the upadesa of Saubhagya Panchadasi, Shodasi, Maha Paduka, Guru Traya blah. Blah………..dikshas. Hence, Bala mantra is laghu srividya which is most essential for the upasakas to get a kick off in the srividya upasana marga. Without Bala mantra anushtana, one should not dare to take initiations of other vidyas like chandi, etc…. I would like to mention specially that Sri Tadepalli Raghava Narayana Sastry of Tenali, Guntur district, a verily sridevi in human form worshipped Bala and got the mantra siddhi. Inspite of his upasana in srividya, he never missed his Sakala Sandhya Vandana, Nitya Agnihotra, Brahma Yagya, Vaisvadeva, Nitya Veda Parayana. Never, he missed his Trikala Sandhya Vandana. Never in his life, he performed Prayaschita Arghya during the Sandhya Vandana. Such is the power of bala mantra. She protects our Nitya Karma Anushtana and sees that her children would not become Karma Bhrashtas!!! The Aksha Mala in her hand stands for Karma Anushtana and Pushtaka stands for Karma Anushtana Siddhi rupa Jnana. With regards, sriram Save all your chat conversations. Find them online.
