Dear Sankar,

 

The work Gayatri Suprabhatam was composed when my gurunatha was in Kanchipuram

at the feet of Kanchi Mahaperivaal. He had a vision of oneness of Kamakshi and

Gayatri at Gayatri mandapam. This work was dedicated to his kaavya and alankara

guru Sri Lakshmana Sastry who was a great Dakshinamurthy Upasaka and adept in

Lambika Yoga. This piece of composition was dedicated with love and affection

by my gurunatha to his gurunatha. My guru had least botheration about the

copyrights and other stuff as he had child-like simplicity towards Mother

Kamakshi.

 

When one of his disciples took the manuscripts and published, it was the idea

of my guru’s son and mine to get it copyrighted to save the manuscripts from

certain culprits. When something wrong goes before me I just can’t tolerate

that. It is our EGO that compelled my gurunatha to think of copyrights. And

I am ready to take the blame for it.

 

As regards the “Rahasya, Ati Rahasya, Rahasyaatirahasya” jargon, Upasana &

Mantras in general and Srividya in particular, should not be imparted to every

tom, dick and harry. Sankara Bhagavatpada in his commentary says that “Rahasya”

means the principle or tattva which is A-sparsha ie., that which is beyond mind

and speech. Please do not add your flavours to the scriptures.

 

Srividya is a way of life. Upasakas of today want to earn dollars, move in AC

cars, like to have McDonnald Burgers, like to have well-furnished ashrams and

at the same time like to be initiated in Padukantha Dikshas and Maha Shodashis.

Such gurus and disciples have become common now a days. Brahmasri Tadepalli

Subbramanya Sastry hardly had two square meals a day for 30 years of his life.

Still he did not quit his Trikala Sandhya with prayaschita, Chakrarchana,

Nityagni Hotra, Vaisvadeva. He performed shat-chakra bhedana while passing

away. So is my gurunatha. Both had hardly Rs. 15/- as a bank balance till

their death.

 

It is unfortunate that to these ‘secret vidyas’ are imparted in SEMINARS and

CRASH COURSES. Srividya has become similar to short-terms course like Java,

Oracle, .NET technologies or testing tools.

 

Please note that every negative act of disciple after initiation, directly or

indirectly affects one’s gurunatha. And hence, upasana was restricted to

limited group who are initiated after undergoing litmus test.

Dear Sriram,

 

With due respect and apologies I would like to comment on what you had said

below.

 

1. Srividhya upasana is meant for the soul and not for the body and mind.

2. once the prana pratishta is done and the kala akarshana done in the visesha

argya, the entire place becomes one ' sasrvam videhyamayam, sarvam tejomayam,

sarvam brahmamayam - and therefore there is no caste, creed, or any distinction.

Even if Yama comes to that place, he becomes one with Devi and forgets his work

to take some one's life there. When that is the case where is the question of

qualification.

3. Giving any mantra including maha shodasi is at the discretion of any capable

master. The fact lies in not giving the mantra but the capability of the guru to

transmit the total divine energy of the mantra. Like a frog in a well what is

the use of chanting of mantras continuously, when the sishya cannot invoke the

awareness of the devata or divine energy and get lost into it to lose his own

identify. For this the Guru must be a capable person to transmit the divine

energy and there are only a handful of such gurus nowadays.

4. Let us not worry about people who do srividhya worship for the sake of money.

5. I may also be permitted to differ about any srividhya person suffering. Don't

you think it is beyond logic to think that a srividhya upasaka will suffer when

she is worshipping the first lady of the universe - Maha Tripurasundari

(Lakshmi). Spirituality and material comforts go hand in hand and if one suffers

in either case it clearly shows that the upasana is not perfect or the Guru had

not transmitted the divine energy to that person when giving diksha. This is my

personal opinion and experience and not to hurt anyone. please execuse me for

this abrupt opinion, which is nothing but fact. Look at Kuchela and when he went

to Krishna did he not get all the purusharthas. Until he want to Krishna he

suffered and once he went to krishna all his sufferings vanished.

6. For doing any dharma or helping others either out of compulsion or compassion

need funds. Empty stomach cannot realise god and if someone things that they

would suffer by doing the upasana they are totally under the mercy of their own

misconception of divine worship. God is simple and so the way to reach Him.

Unfortunately in srividhya worship attraction (particularly from the women side)

is there, because they come out with all sort of problems to be solved, and this

weakness is used by unscrupulous elements to quench personal ego and superiority

and sometimes even to destroy the individuals divinity and purity.

7. i am pained to see that while people want everyone to study lalitha

sahasranama they do not care for the phala stuti which clearly says that if

anyone chants lalitha sahasranama without panchadasakshari mantra upadesa,

yoginis curse them. Even big peetadipathis do not care for the phalastuthi. We

respect of Lalitha sahasranama but do not respect the greatest personality who

gave it to us through the blessings of Divine Mother, and care to read and

understand the complete text including phala stuthi.

 

8,. IRRESPECTIVE OF WHAT HAVE BEEN SAID ABOVE, THE DUTY OF EACH AND EVERY

SRIVIDHYA UPASAKA IS TO SEE THAT HE IS ABLE TO DIRECTLY CONTACT THE GURU MANDALA

OF THE LINEAGE OF ALL THE GURUS, BRING OUT THE DIVINE ENERGY TO THIS MUNDANE

WORLD, TRANSMIT THE SAME TO EVERY ONE AND EVERYTHING, SO THAT HE AND THE

SURROUNDINGS BECOME 'BRAHMAM'. Loko binnaruchi and let us all unite together and

bring about a revolutionery change by strong upasana, sincere upasana, and

develop capabilities and capacity to transmit the entire divine energy accrued

to everything around without expecting results. That will only solve the

problems.

 

9. opinions differ but the goal is the same. Loka samastha sukhino bhavanthu.

10. last but not the least this is not meant to hurt anyone but to vent out what

I personally feel.
