Guest guest
Dear devotees of Ambaal, This is the dakshinamurthy stotra was given by a siddha purusha of Srisailam to the father of my paramaguru Sri Srinivasa Sastry. The father of Srinivasa Sastry, was a great scholar of tarka, vyakarana, mimamsa. Apart from these, he was a great upasaka of Bhavani Sankara. His daily chores of activities include Trikala Sandhya, Nityagni Hotra, Vaisvadeva and Veda Adhyayana. He was an ahitaagni. He used to perform Mahaanyaasa Purvaka Ekadasa Rudra to his Sphatika Linga and then used to have his lunch in the afternoon. His wife was also a maha saadhvi and pathivrata. They were made for each other. But, inspite of their vedic rites and upasana, they were not blessed with children for many years after their marriage. These couple used to perform several anushtanas and parayanas for a suputra (a son of right conduct). One fine morning, a siddhapurusha from Srisailam who was a Dakshinamurthy Mantra Siddha and Upasaka arrived at their house for bhiksha. The couple served this mahapurusha with sumptuous food. Satisfied with the grihasthasrama dharma of this divine couple, the siddha purusha initiated the father of my paramaguru with Medha Dakshinamurthy Mantra and its upasana secrets. He had handed over the Dakshinamurthy Kalpa and the Yantra of Dakshinamurthy and blessed the couple saying that a wonderful son would be born with the aspect of Dakshinamurthy Kala would be a great scholar. The same night his wife got a dream in which Lord Venkateswara appeared asked them to put the His Name (Lord Srinivasa) during the namakarana ceremony. Accordingly, a chubby boy was born and was named “Srinivasa Sastry”. This boy grew up and mastered entire Rig and Yajur Veda Krama and Jata Patha. Mastered Tarka, Vyakarana and Mimamsa. Met his guru Sri Gollapinni Mallikarjuna Sastry of Gadwal Samsthan at Mahaboobnagar District of Andhra Pradesh. Wonderstruck by the sharp intelligence and upasana, Sri Mallikarjuna Sastrigal gave away his daughter to Sri Srinivasa Sastry. Then after marriage, Sri Srinivasa Sastry further studied the secrets of Srividya Upasana, Dahara Vidya, Akshi Purusha Vidya, Madhu Vidya and Prana Vidya from sri Mallikarjuna Sastry. Sri Mallikarjuna Sastry, himself, a great Srividyopasaka from Sri Nrisimha Bharati Swamigal of Sringeri, used to go into ecstasy and antarmukha avastha like chankrasekhara bharati swamigal. He was initiated into Siva Panchakshari, Hamsa Vidya, Akshi Purusha vidya directly from Lord Virupaksha of Hampi. Sri Mallikarjuna Sastry was not able to perform his nitya anushtana and chakra archana because of his occasional antarmukha state. Then one fine day, Sri Mallikarjuna Sastry handed over his entire panchayatana to Sri Srinivasa Sastry asked him to manage the whole affair of nitya puja. Saying so, left the house. Took aatura sanyasa, uttering pranava mantra 3 times, shed his mortal coil in the Tunga Bhadra River. Since then Sri Srinivas Sastry continued his daily chores of activities, Srichakra Upasana, Nitya Agni Hotra, Brahma Yagna, Vaisvadeva and used to teach the disciples Veda, Vedanta, Purana, Tarka, Vyakarana. It was during this time, that my Guru Sri Sitaramanjaneya Sastry incidentally met. It was the good fortune of my gurunatha that Sri Srinivasa Sastry taught the intricacies of Dahara Vidya, Akshi Purusha Vidya. He also taught the Shat Chakra Bhedana Paddhati, Manolaya Yoga and Triputi Bhedana. This Dakshinamurthy Stotra is chanted by my parampara which gives tremendous mental peace and purity. It also results in good memory and sharp intellect. It is a good fortune of mine that I am associated with this illustrious guru parampara.
