Guest guest
Dear srinivas, From what i have learnt from elders is that by the name dattatreya there are 2 personalities. One is the son of atri and anasuya. The other is a wonderful historic person who authored Dattatreya Tantra. This 2nd dattatreya belonged to Kaula and Vama School. So, i am not sure whether it is this dattatreya who initiated Parasurama into Srividya and Tripura Rahasya. Morever, by the name Hayagriya, there is one more sage by the same name who lived in Kanchipuram. Probably this Hayagriya was guru of Agstya. My grandfather told me that horse-headed incarnation of vishnu and Sage Hayagriya both are not same. And it is the sage who initiated the srividya to Agastya. But there is no sastra pramana to this statement. With regards, sriram , Srinivas Rao <srinivasrao197080 wrote: > > Namaste ramji, > & nbsp; > You have mentioned the name Dattatreya. & nbsp; This reminds me of the words of grandfather and my paramaguru who came from datta lineage. > & nbsp; > Is the authorship of Dattatreya Samhita ascribed to the son of atri and anasuya? > & nbsp; > S.Rao > > > > >
