I appreciate your vaak chaaturya. You stick to your point. & nbsp;

Are 64 upacharas (chatushshashti upacharas) applicable to other deities? Is

there any pramana for this

Dear srinivas,

The 64 upacharas are performed to Lalitha Tripurasundari. 64 is the

symbolic representation of Ashta-Ashtaka Devis. 64 also represent 64

yoginis. When Devi visualised as Vak, 64 number is the vibhajana of

Ashta Matrikas (vowels and consonants)(Pl. refer my old postings).

So, these upacharas are performed ONLY TO LALITHA.

Sri Vaidyanatha Dikshitar strictly prohibits these upacharas to

other deities. You can refer Nityosava for these upacharas.

A great tantric and agama sastra pundit by name " Pattesalinga

Aradhya Ayyavaru " who was a devi upasaka at Brahamarambika Devi

Sannidhi at Srisailam compiled a wonderful book on 64 upacharas. It

is used in the temple. He had changed and sublimed certain forms of

devi and yantra worship at Srisailam. The manuscripts of this

wonderful personality are also available. It is based on Srisuktam,

Purushasuktam and Durgasuktam.

Regards,

Sriram
