Guest guest
Dear ram, Thanks a lot for your sparing your precious time in explaining the term " rahasya " of tantra. Regarding daksha yagnya, i too had listened this explanation probably in Appayya Dikshitar's " Ratna Traya Pariksha " . The 3 ratnas are Gauri, Hari and Siva. These 3 are also involved in Daksha Yagna. It is wonderful. A basic question. What should we do to earn the grace of guru. How a disciple should conduct himself. I know some of the things from guru charitra. But are there any kshipra sadhanas to earn his grace? S.Rao
Guest guest
Dear srinivas, I am not the right person to speak on guru bhakthi and his kripa nor I am in a position to give spiritual advices. Before giving such advices one should introspect oneself how far one has traveled in the path. Shri Aurobindo says it is " easy to assume the role of EXAMINER but difficult to assume the role of EXAMINEE " . So, do not expect any " spiritual advices " from my side. But a short article on guru bhakthi. " Guru " means " dispeller of ignorance and darkness " . " sat " means " that which is ever-existent " . So, " satguru " is a TATTVA or PRINCIPLE that is " ever-existent and out his profound compassion dispels the ignorance of the disciple " . This Guru-tattva is the supreme self that ever shines in one's heart cave. The real Sat-guru is one's own self. This Guru-tattva out of his supreme and profound compassion (aardratha / wet with compassion / nityaklinna) to uplift the disciple assumes the physical form (sthula rupa) and blesses the disciple. Sat-Guru is verily the Parabrahma himself before us. The blessings of the sat-guru are always available but only thing is one should be FIT ENOUGH to receive it. Fortunately, there are still such Sat-gurus in physical form before our eyes. But one has to be aware of such gurus. To have glimpse of such gurus is difficult and to have the grace of such gurus is more difficult. So, till you get the GRACE OF SAT-GURU, perform your nityakarmas and sva-dharma without fail. Read simple books like Gurucharitra, Guru Gita, Bhagavatgita (simple explanation – not shankara bhashya), Upadesa Sahasri, Vivekachudamani, Dakshinamurthy Stotra. Read the lives of saints. Read Periya Puranam (lives of 63 nayannars). I would suggest you to read Dattatreya Charitra to earn the grace of Sat-guru. Life of Dattatreya and his incarnations in this Kali Yuga is just marvelous. Datta Parampara is a maverick parampara which is beyond the understanding of human mind. Their habits and life styles are very strange to the ordinary folks. Do not go for terse vedantic philosophies and tantra sastras. Dry philosophic discussions and scriptures are useless. Prasthana Traya Bhashyas and high sounding mantras are useless with dry intellect (at least not for me who am a dullard). What we need is Guru's Bhakthi and Kripa. Everybody cannot become Sureshwaracharyas, Padmapada and Hastamalaka. We should keep the role model of Totakacharya in approaching our Sat-guru. Sat-guru can also be easily pleased with personal service. WHENEVER IT IS POSSIBLE FOR YOU, DO PERSONAL SERVICE TO YOUR IMMEDIATE GURU WHO HAS INITIATED YOU. WASH HIS CLOTHES, APPLY OIL AND MASSAGE HIS FEET, GET SOME MEDICINES FOR HIM, GIVE SOME MONEY IF HE IS IN FINANCIAL TROUBLE, TAKE CARE OF HIS FAMILY. GURU IS PLEASED BY SUCH SERVICES. BY SUCH SERVICES, ONE'S EGO GETS DISSOLVED. AND IT WORKS WONDERS. BELIEVE ME. For the time being throw away all your tantra granthas and bhashyas on the roof top of your house. Concentrate on this guru bhakthi. It makes the DIFFERENCE. See how marvelously you will change. Some of the terse knots in the scriptures would automatically be loosened and you would be inspired if your Gurunatha is pleased with you. , Srinivas Rao <srinivasrao197080 wrote: > > Dear ram, > > Thanks a lot for your sparing your precious time in explaining the term " rahasya " of tantra.
