Guest guest
Dear Sriram and others, Without knowing the significance of doing mantra japam during eclipse, I allowed the opportunity to pass through. I was able to check my emails after a week, only today. I came to know that the mantras would be mrita, if not chanted during eclipse. Kindly advise me on the procedure, if any, to be followed to reawaken the mantra shakti. Also, I have not changed my upavita as yet. Can I do it now? If so, is the procedure to be followed, the same as in normal situations? Regards, Hari
Guest guest
Dear krishnan, Donot worry. It is very difficult to follow the dharma sukshmas to the core especially in these present situations where we have to parallely balance our professional carrer life as well as our private life with our wife and children. I understand the problem. Infact, how many dwijas are sincerely doing nitya sandhya? And i really wonder if there is any one who follow the dharma to the core except handful of smartha families who are dedicated to upasana and a very few muthadhipatis. Kanchi Mahaperiyavaal was one among them who followed the dharma and prayaschita to the core. Any violation in the rule, He used to observe fast and perform the japa the whole day. I remember my gurunatha's words about this great personality. One day Mahaperiyavaal was suffering from loose motions and every minute he had to go out for clearing out his bowels. He had almost 20 motions!! Poor swamiji, He didnot even bother to take medicine except the tulasi tirtha. Inspite of His 20 motions, He performed the Shoucha Kanda 20 times and each time He performed Sroutha Achamana. Inspite of his illness, He didnot miss his Nitya Ahnika and Sandhya Anushtana. Such is the Greatness and Piousness of this Great Soul (Mahaperiyavaal). There are many instances of these. Such things are not possible for us who put one foot on spirituality and other foot on materialism. Though there are prayaschitas like go- dana, suvarna-dana, who is fit enough now-a-days to receive the dana. The purohita who receives the dana should have the basic requisites and he himself is not pure enough. So, the best possible way is change your upavitha, perform 1000 gayatri mahamantra and try to perform the purascharana of the mantras in which you have been initiated.
