Guest guest Posted August 5, 2008 Report Share Posted August 5, 2008 Dear Shkata Bandhu's,                                    Let us accept the truth and lookforward with rejoice. I would like to understand from any learner member with authentication that what makes the Sri Guru to Initiate his disciple ?. I mean searching for a Guru and accepting him is very difficullt in the modern days. But my personal experience and Litrature says that SriGuru searches his disciples and Initiates into the Srividya upasana depending on the ability of the sadhaka.  What I want to understand is that What forces or makes it ? or To look for the right disciple or how can one knows the disciple's inner quest for the truth. How is the Moon, Jupiter, Ketu, Rahu's POSITIONS in jataka chakra effects the upasana, I mean will these positions gives any clue of somebodys present kamra's or previous karma's or UPASANAS. Guest guest Posted August 5, 2008 Report Share Posted August 5, 2008 Dear Kamesh, For undertaking any mantra upasana, it is generally a good practice to check one's horoscope and observe the mantra sthana along with Siddha, Rina, Ari Chakras. But for me this seems to be TOO MECHANICAL AND STEREOTYPED way of choosing one's deity. Choosing of one's ishta devata should come naturally out of love, attachment, emotion and affection. For undertaking Srividya Upasana, one need not observe these details of Siddha, Ari, Rina Chakras and Horoscope as it is Brahma Vidya. As regards choosing one's Gurunatha, Sankara Bhagavatpada already mentioned the necessary qualities. THE GURU SHOULD BE OF GOOD CHARACTER, MANTRA SIDDHA, SHOULD OBSERVE THE VEDIC RITUALS INCLUDING THE SHOUCHA KANDA. SHOULD PERFORM HIS NITYA NAIMITTIKA KARMA KANDA. SHOULD BE WELL VERSED IN VEDA AND DHARMA SASTRA. SHOULD BE ABLE TO GUIDE THE DISCIPLE WHENEVER ANY HELP IS NEEDED. INFACT TO CHOOSE A SRIVIDYA GURU, ONE SHOULD LOOK AT HIS LINEAGE ALSO REGARDING PHYSICAL DEFORMITIES, HIS FAMILY TREE ETC. IF A GURU IS GRIHASTHA, ONE SHOULD OBSERVE THE TRETAAGNI UPASANA (AHAVANIYA, GARHAPATYA, DAKSHINA AGNIS). SHOULD HAVE CHILDREN OF GOOD CHARACTER AND A DHARMA PATNI WHO IS SAADHVI. As regards the Srividya Initiation, upasana DO NOT COME JUST LIKE THAT if MOTHER DOES NOT WANT TO. It is the Divine Mother who is the Deciding Factor. NOT YOU AND ME. The Initiation comes when the Time is Ripe. Till then ONE HAS TO WAIT. IT IS ALSO THE DUTY OF THE DISCIPLE TO LOOK FOR THE GURUS OF ABOVE- MENTIONED QUALITY. OR ELSE ONE IS BOUND TO GET THE GURUS LIKE RAJANEESH, CHANDRASWAMI AND OTHER BABAS WHO HAVE SPROUTED LIKE MUSHROOMS AROUND US FLEECING MONEY AND DOLLARS. Patience is a very essential quality for the real seeker You are correct. When the time is ripe, the initiation comes (even asareeri or a dream sequence etc.,) A real Guru has no need for a dakshina other than selfless love. Cultivation of viveka is the need of the hour. Then you can understand that he will be your guru. However one has to study the capacities and capabilities of a guru before accepting him. If you find that he is not upto your expectations and cannot deliver brahmatwam then you can go to another suitable one.
