Guest guest
Respected members, Can u kindly clarify the difference between 'YAAGA' and 'YAGNA " ? SHE is called 'mahA yAga kramArAdhya'...What does the name signify? Also, in loukika sampradya, when a close relative passes away, most of the functions and rituals are not observed for one year (especially for sa-gothram family). What is the relevance behind this? Vedic-ritual-oriented festivals like Varalaxmi vratam, SharanNavarathri etc occur only once in an year. Hence, it feels difficult, to not celebrate them. I request the members of the group to help me understand this. [i am bringing this issue because there was such an incident in our family and I have been advised by my elders that for one year we shld not be celebrating festivals. Hence my doubt]. Kindly excuse me if the doubt is beyond the group's norm. Bala Sharanam, Lalitha.
Guest guest
Respected lalitha, As far as my knowledge goes, yaaga and yagna are same. The term " homa " is different. The mahayagakrama is the method adopted by upasakas having uttama adhikara. There is a special procedure for this which has to be learnt from a competent guru. This is also the Antaryaga or the internal worship by contemplating one's own body as Srichakra and one's own self as Lalitha Tripurasundari. Since, this is the highest form of worship to Mother, She is addressed as " Mahayagakramaradhya " . Now, regarding the sutaka, as i mentioned in my earlier posts on savya and apasavya marga, the subtle body of the departed soul starts his journey to the higher world ONLY ON 12TH DAY AFTER VAIKUNTA SAMARADHANA. THE 30 DAYS FOR THE MORTALS IS EQUIVALENT TO 1 DAY FOR THE DEPARTED SOUL. AND HENCE " MONTHLY SRADHA CEREMONY " WHICH IS CALLED " MAASIKA " IN TELUGU IS CONDUCTED. EVERY MONTH THIS DEPARTED SOUL HAS TO BE FED WITH FOOD WITH MANTRA WHICH IS EQUIVALENT TO A SINGLE DAY FOR THESE DEPARTED SOULS. IF NOT FED, ONE IS LIABLE TO ACQUIRE THE SIN OF NOT FEEDING THE PITRI DEVATAS. ONE SHOULD NOT OMIT THE MASIKA BECAUSE THESE POOR DEPARTED SOULS JUST WAIT FOR THE SINGLE MORSEL OF FOOD FROM THEIR DEPENDANTS. AFTER 12 MASIKAS, THE DEPARTED SOUL CHANGES HIS COURSE OF JOURNEY FROM THE DAY WHEN " ANNUAL CEREMONY " IS PERFORMED. DEPENDING UPON THEIR KARMAS, ADOPTING THE DEVAYANA AND PITRIYANA MARGAS, THE DEPARTED SOULS ENJOY THEIR FRUITS OF ACTION. NOW, THERE IS A " SASVATA PITRI LOKA " (THE ETERNAL PITRI LOKA) THAT HAS 49 PAIRS OF PITRI DEVATAS. FOR THEM, ONE YEAR IS EQUIVALENT TO 1 DAY OF OURS. AND HENCE ANNUAL CEREMONY IS PERFORMED SO THAT THESE PITRI DEVATAS OF OUR DYNASTY GET THE FOOD EVERY DAY. NON-PERFORMANCE OF SRADHA CEREMONY LEADS TO PITRI SAPA FROM THESE 49 PITRI DEVATAS. This is the Anugraha Bhashana of Shri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamigal during one of his chaturmasya dikshas in Hyderabad. Dharmo rakshati rakshitaha..... Guest guest
shrI gurubhyo namaH shrI mahAgaNapataye namaH Mahayagakramam is a more internalized form of worship, and must be learnt from a Shri Vidya Guru. It is also covers the nine Avaranas of the shrI chakram, and some other elements. It is not necessary for all Shri Vidya Upasakas. It is necessary for others. The Guru decides, teaches and advises his shishyas accordingly. More than this, please confer with your Guru. Thanks and Regards to all. Guest guest
Namasthe, When I faced a similar situation when my father expired, the advise given by Pujya Rajam Mami was : All Nithya pujas including Navavarana Puja, Sri Vidya Homam, if one is doing it regularly shall be continued to be done after 45 days. All special pujas like Navrathry should NOT be discomtinued but should be done in Ekaantha without socialization. You should go to temples except for temples located in hilllock and the temple of Kuladevatha. Amavasya tarpana must be done if the Eclipse takes place after death and if the month of AAdi or Thai and another month commences. Most of the commercial prohits knowledge is poor and only knowledgeable persons should be contacted for clarification. regards ganapathy Ganapathy --- Vijaya " Jai Bhavani " --- On Tue, 8/12/08, Lalitha Ramani <varamala wrote: Lalitha Ramani <varamala Kindly clarify Tuesday, August 12, 2008, 8:00 AM Respected members, Can u kindly clarify the difference between 'YAAGA' and 'YAGNA " ? Guest guest
Dear ganapathi, Namaste. First of all i should thank you for quoting the sastra pramana from the divine lips of the incarnation of Lopamudra Smt. Rajam Mami. My protrations to Her (Mami) and indeed tears rolled down from my eyes the moment i saw mami's name in your post. I did not have the good fortune of having her darshan but her voice still rings in my ears through your posts. THE WORDS FROM RAJAM MAMI IS FINAL AND NO DISPUTE ABOUT THIS.
