Dear members,

The parasambhu mahimnah stavah is not only a hymn of 142 slokas but gives a

wonderful mantroddhara of Aghora Mantra and its Aghora Yantra. This Aghora

Mantra is not to be confused with the Aghora Mantra of Pancha Brahma Mantras.

This mantra propagates the famous “Shambhava Siddhanta” which is also called

“Aghora Vidya”. The deity of this Vidya is Para Shambhu whose mode of

instruction is “Shambhava Diksha” through “Aghora MantrOpadesha”. It is

interesting to note that this Para Shambhu has 6 faces (like subramanya) and has

12 hands. Moreover, one of the weapons is “Sudarshana Chakra” which is quite

unusual with Siva. Also the Yantra of this Para Shambhu is Shat-kona Yantra

with 6 pitas. The Para Shambhu is identified with Chit Bhairava Agni and its

avarana devatas are called Bhairavas who are 360 in number. This is identified

with Effulgent Sun (Chidbhairavagni) and its Marichis that are 360 in number as

Bhairavas. The weapons that Para Shambhu holds are :

shula, asi, Ishu, ugra shakti, ankusa, varamudra, kapala, bilva phala,

ishwAsana, Sudarshana chakra, pasa, abhaya mudra. He has 6 faces. He sports

with 6 shaktis viz., parA, icchA, jnAna, kriya, kundalini, matrika. All these 6

shaktis are explained in detail with 6 corresponding prakaranas. The 6 pitas are

pancha bhutas and cheta.

This para shambhu who has 6 faces, 12 hands is the propagator of Siddha Yoga

Marga. The sloka no. 6 encodes the mantra related to Aghora Vidya and its

process of initiation. The sloka no. 20 to 26 encodes the “skanda rashmi

prakarana”, from 27 to 34, Iccha Sakti Rashmi Prakarana. Similarly parA, Jnana,

Kriya, Kundalini, Matrika Rashmi Prakarana Upasana Paddhati is encoded. The

54th sloka explains the 10 agni kalas from Dhumrarchi to Kavanavahini Kalas. The

71st sloka encodes the Chitbhairavagni Upasana and its Marichis who are

Bhairavas 360 in number. The 74th sloka encodes the “Para shambhu Pavaka Dhyana

Yoga Prakarana” which is the upasana of Agni as Para Shambhu. The 77th sloka

encodes the Agni / Anala Mukha Para Shambhu. The 78th sloka describes the

“Trishula Vidya” of Para Shiva. From 85th sloka to 109th sloka is the “Maha

Vibhuti Prakarana” of Para shambhu. The 114th sloka to 121st sloka describes

the Upasana rahasya of “Bhairavi and Bhairava”. From 122nd

sloka are the Upasamhara Slokas.

It is interesting to note that the author has encoded his name in the 132nd

sloka which runs as:

durvAsA satyavAsAh kanakagiri raham kandarE mE hridAkhyE

shlOkAschaitE mrigEndrAh padanakha dasanAh shAmbhavO(a)straika vIryAh

mAyAdhyAntE bhayUdha pradalana paTavAncha bhrahma vidyATavIsthAh

vakrUn shrOtrUn pramAtru nnijahridaya guhA brahma sattAn namastE // 132

Here the author identifies himself with Durvasa and identifies himself with

Vyavahara Nama “satyavAsah” who is known as “kanakagiri”. This is the beauty of

the poet who hushed up his name “arunagiri” as “kanakagiri”. So, this Arunagiri

is none other than Arunagiri Yogi who was born with Amsa Avatara of Durvasa in

Tamil Nadu with the name “Satyavasan”.

He was also instrumental in compiling “Saubhagya chintamani Kalpa”, composing

“Devi Mahimnah Stavah, Arya Dwishati. Also propagated the Shambhava Diksha

Vidhana with Aghora Vidya. A wonderful Shat-kona Yantra Upasana Vidhi is

prescribed in this Para Shambhu Mahimnah Stotra which has to be learnt from

competent gurunatha.

With regards,

sriram
