Guest guest
Dear members, Arghya pradana forms an important aspect in Sandhya. During sutaka also, one is advised to perform sandhya till Arghya pradana and rest of rituals are mentally visualized. Its reference is found in Veda also where Prajapathi gives the boon to Mandehas which is well known to the members. The Arghya with Gayatri becomes the Brahmastra and overthrows the demons during the tough fight with the Surya. This ritual bestows the Divine Strength to the Upasaka and solace to the Parama Purusha who is present in the solar orbit. The Arghya Pradana increases the Virya (Vital Energy in the form of Prana Shakti) in the Upasaka as the Sun is the presiding deity of Prana. Varuna is the presiding deity of Apana and hence the Evening Sandhya with Arghya bestows strength and pushti to the Apana in the Upasaka. Arghya to the Surya is prescribed for every hindu whether one has adhikara or not. There is a purana gayatri which is the sloka “yO dEvas savitA……..tat varENyam upAsmahEâ€. Uttering these mantras, one should offer the arghya 3 times daily without fail. With regards, sriram Did you know? You can CHAT without downloading messenger.
