Guest guest
Dear all,  Can somebody please tell me about the five flower arrows in the hand of Sri Lalitambika? I looked in the archives and found names of the 5 flowers given by Ms. Vijaya, but since they were in Tamil, I could not completely follow it. Hence the request. Can members provide their sanskrit names and their english translation.  Thanks, BJN Unlimited freedom, unlimited storage. Guest guest
Dear narayan, Namaste. Long back i have posted the bija mantras of ayudhas and flowers in this forum. The same is being produced here again. Tripurasundari holds 4 ayudhas in her 4 hands. They are Pasa, Ankusa, Kodanda (Bow) and pancha pushpa banaas (5 arrows of flowers). Specific bijas and mantras are associated with each ayudha. Mantra anushtana of those bijas are undertaken for specific purposes. The bija uddharas are given below: 1) Pasa : AM Lalitha sahasranama says `Raga swarupa pasaadya'. The varna `A' denotes the `Raaga'. Hence, pasa bija is `AM' (Sarada Tilaka Tantra). But Bhasurananda taken " HRIM " as pasa bija. 2) Ankusa ; KROM Lalitha Sahasranama says " Krodhaakara Amkusojwala " . " KRO " is taken from " Krodhaakara " and " AM " is taken from " Amkoshojwala " . It becomes " KROM " . This is amkusa bija. 3) Kodanda : DHAM Lalitha Sahasranama says " Mano Rupekshu Kodanda " . Kodanda is also called " Dhanuh " . Hence, " DHAM " is the bija of Kondanda. 4) Pancha Pushpa Baana (5 arrows) : DRAM, DREEM , KLEEM , BLOOM , SAH Lalitha sahasranama says " Pancha Tanmaatra Sayaka " . These 5 tanmaatras are the 5 vishayas of 5 gross elements. (1) Sabda – Sound (2) Sparsha – Touch (3) Rupa – Form (4) Rasa – Taste (5) Gandha – Smell. These 5 are the tanmaatras of 1) Akasa 2) Vaayu 3) Agni 4) Jala 5) Prithvi. As per Vamakeshwara Tantra, these 5 tanmaatras are the arrows and mind the Ikshu Kodanda These arrows are of 3 types: 1) Sthula 2) Sukshma 3) Para. Sthula is the form of flower as described above. Sukshma is the form of Mantra. Para is the form of Vasanas or Tendencies. The Jnanarnava Tantra says that there are 5 aspects related to these 5 flowers: 1) Kshobhanam 2) Draavanam 3) Aakarshanam 4) Vashyam 5) Unmaadam Tantra Raja says: 1) Madana 2) Unmada 3) Mohana 4) Deepana 5) Soshana The respective flowers are: 1) Kamala 2) Kairava 3) Kalhaara 4) Indivara 5) Sahakara The Bijaaksharas related to above flowers are: 1) DRAM 2) DREEM 3) KLEEM 4) BLOOM 5) SAH Respectively. Guest guest
Sriram, Thanks for the explanation. Can you please correlate between the dhanuh and bana? From Ms. Vijaya's mail, I thought the flowers were mango flower, lotus, water lilly and two other, which I don't know. I am not able to correlate between the ones listed by Sriram and these. Sorry for the trouble. BJN , " sriram " <sriram_sapthasathi wrote: > > Dear narayan, > > Namaste. Long back i have posted the bija mantras of ayudhas and > flowers in this forum. Guest guest
Dear narayan, Dhanuh is the sugar cane bow and bana is the 5 arrows. Using 5 arrows are the 5 mental tendencies which the Mother uses on the Jiva and entangles him with Raga which is the noose held by Mother. Same is the case with Ankusa. These are the aspects of Raga and dvesha. Now the flowers which are mentioned the english version is: Kamala is Lotus Rakta kairava is Red Water lily Kalhara is water lily with combination of red and white colour Indivara is the Black water lily Sahakara is the sweet mango flower The 5 tendencies related to these 5 flowers are: as per kalika purana: harshana, rochana, mohana, soshana, marana as per Jnanarnava tantra: kshobana, dravana, akarshana, vashya, unmada as per Tantraraja tantra: Madana, unmada, mohana, dipana, shoshana So, there is no difference of opinion from what Ms. vijaya has told you. Hope your doubt is clear. with regards, sriram , " bj.narayanan " <bj.narayanan wrote: > > Sriram, > > Thanks for the explanation.
