Siddhapur, the place of karma kanda exclusively for mother

Dear members,

 

There is a wonderful place dedicated to Mother Renuka in Mehsana district of

Gujarat. This place is around 110 km away from Ahmedabad. There are temples

dedicated to Shri Parasurama, Dattatreya and Mother Renuka. Situated at the

banks of river Saraswati (which is antarvahini now). Skanda purana mentions

this as Sristhala. This place was later on renovated by the great queen of

India Smt. Ahalyabai Holkar.

 

This is the place where Sage Kapila initiated his mother into the secrets of

Upasana.

 

The speciality of this place is that Matru Shradha (Ceremonial offerings to

Mother) is offered by daughters. This is exclusively the place for departed

souls of mothers, grandmothers and maternal parampara.

 

FEMALES DO THE KARMA KANDA TO THEIR OWN MOTHERS HERE. IT IS ALSO SAID THAT

PARASURAMA PERFORMED THE LAST RITES OF HIS MOTHER RENUKA AND COMMANDED THAT

HENCEFORTH FEMALES CAN ALSO PERFORM THE MONTHLY / ANNUAL CEREMONIES TO THEIR

RESPECTIVE MOTHERS / GRANDMOTHERS.

 

As per the instructions of my gurunatha, my guruputri performed the matru

sraadha at this place for my gurupatni.

 

Some scholars are of the view that the Place Mahurgad which is near Nanded

district of Maharashtra is the place where Parasurama performed the last rites

of his mother.

Our revered member Shri Kamesh has given the wonderful details

regarding this siddhapur.

 

My guruputri Smt. Srilakshmi performed the ceremonial worship of

matri sraadha to my gurupatni smt. Varalakshmi as per the directions

of my gurunatha. A very powerful place indeed and you can feel the

presence of Mother Renuka here.
