Guest guest
Dear members, According to Shri Veluri Sivarama Sastry, what exactly was the name of Shri Abhinava Gupta is a mystery. Shri Veluri Sastry, like Dravida Rajeshwara Sastrigal, mastered Kevala Advaita siddhanta of Sankara School as well as Siva Advaita of Kashmir Trika School. Given below is the opinion of this great scholar of Andhra, Shri Veluri Sivarama Sastry, who did extensive research on Kashmir Trika Siddhanta and also was an ashtAvadhAni in Telugu. A scholar of Alankara, Natya Sastra apart from traditional Sankara Vedanta. Also wrote a commentary on “Dehastha Devata Chakra Stotra†which was a wonderful composition by Acharya Abhinava Gupta. Please note that this was an opinion ie., could be regarding the naming of Acharya Abhinava. Abhinava Gupta in his work “Tantraloka says that “abhinavasya kritisseyam yasyoditAgurubhirAkhyA†ie., this christening of “Abhinava†was done by my gurunatha. Now, observing the Abhinava’s great scholarship in Vyakarana Sastra, the then scholars coined the word “abhinava gopAnasE guptapAdah†thereby Abhinava is identified with the Great Sanskrit Grammarian Patanjali. He was also called Abhinava Patanjali. Now, Patanjali was an amsa of Adi-sesha who had “gupta-pAdaâ€. So, he concludes that “gupta-pAda†is the adjective to Acharya Abhinava to indicate his scholarship in Vyakarana and recognizing him to be on par with Patanjali. And hence the name “Abhinava Guptaâ€. This was the view of Shri Veluri Sivarama Sastry. Some of the works of Acharya Abhinava Gupta are : Anuttara Trimshika Laghuvritti, Paratrimshika Vritti, Anuttarashtika, Anubhava Nivedana, Ishwara Pratyabhijna, Kathamukha Tilaka, Kavya Kautuka Vivarana, Krama Stotra or Keli, Ghatakarpara Kulakavritti, Tattvadhva Prakasa, Tantra Vatadhanika, Tantra Sara, Tantraloka, Tantrocchayam, Devi Stotra Vivarana, Dehastha Devata Chakra Stotra, Dhwanyalochana, Natya Sastra Vivritti, Padartha Pravesha Nirnaya Tika, Paramartha Charcha, Paramartha Dvadasika, Paramartha Sara, Purva Panchika, Prakarana Vivarana, Prakirnaka Vivarana, Prabodha Panchadasika, Bhagavat Gita Sangraha, Bhedavada Vidarana, Bhairava Stotra, Mahopadesa Vimshatika, Malini Vijaya Vartika, Laghvi Prakriya, Sivadrishtyalochana, Siva-sakti Avinabhava Stotra, Bimba Pratibimba Vada, Natyalochana, Anuttara Sataka etc. With regards, sriram Add more friends to your messenger and enjoy! Guest guest
Srimaan Sadhaka The Parents Names of YOGINIBHUH Abhinava Gupta were Vimala and Narasimha gupta. YOGINIBHUH is one whose father is a " Siddha " and Mother is " Yogini " one born in the union of Siddha and Yogini is known as YOGINBHUH. He belonged to Advaita School the most pure and elevated form of Kashmir Shaivism. As Jagadguru Adi Shankara is for shakteya . He was for Kashmir Shaivism Complete in himself. Regards N.Diwakar [Adi Shankara was a smArta not shAkta. - Satish] , venkata sriram <sriram_sapthasathi wrote: > > Dear members, > > According to Shri Veluri Sivarama Sastry, what exactly was the name of Shri Abhinava Gupta is a mystery.
