Guest guest
Dear raghavender, Most of the andhraites belong to Kalyananananda Bharati parampara of Guntur. And Hyderabad also has his disciples. But i have my reservations against this parampara. Moreover, there is a wonderful parampara of Shri Kowta Narasimha Sastry of Old Guntur whose disciples are in Hyderabad who are very closely-knit. Shri Kowta Narasimha Sastry, a disciple of Kuruganti Venkataramana Sastry, happens to be sahasra gayatri upasaka and an ahitagni. His daily ablutions were Sandhya, Nitya Agni Hotra, Vaisvadeva, Aupasana, Brahma Yajna and sthali paka every fortnight. He was a devi upasaka who used to be in trance during the night times at the time of shatchakra bhedana. My gurunatha never saw him taking a short nap at about 3'oclock in the night that too on an easy chair. Again at 4:00, engrossed in Rashmi Mala Parayana and Hamsa Japa. At the time of his passing away, Devi instructed him to take sanyasa. Accordingly he took turiya asrama and shed his mortal coil in Basara at the banks of river godavari. Some of his wonderful compositions which were composed during his moments of trance were Vanadurga Mahavidya, Varivasya Rahasya, Srisaila Mallikarjuna Satakam, Shri Bhramarambika Satakam, Dakshinamurthy Vilasam, Chidgagana Chandrika Vyakhya etc. Dakshinamurthy vilasam is a treatise on his gurunatha Shri Jandhyala Dakshinamurthy Sastry. Some of his direct disciples are in Hyderabad. The wooden sandals which we see in the temple premises of Basara are the wooden sandals of Shri Jandhyala Dakshinamurthy Sastry who WAS DIRECTLY INITIATED INTO SRIVIDYA BY GODDESS SARASWATI HERSELF IN BASARA. So, if time permits, i would leisurely give out some of the close disciples of Shri Kuruganti Venkataramana Sastry and Kowta Venkataramana Sastry. Since, I presume you are from guhananda mandali, it is generally a good practice to visit the worship performed by the same mandali. One of our revered members is Shri R.Vijaya Ganapati who contributes to this forum. He is very close to Smt. Rajam Mami and Shri Goda Venkateshwara Sastrigal. You can contact him via email for exchanging of views and satsanga. Shri R.Vijaya Ganapati is currently General Manager (Finance) in Hyderabad Race Club, Malakpet. Moreover, you can visit the VEDA BHAVAN at Malkajigiri which is a veda pathasala. Some of the ghanapatis are into srividya who organise Navavarana Archana. Shri Pudukottai Ramanatha Iyer also visits this pathasala quite often from Pudukottai. Shri Yanamandra Yajnanarayana Avadhanigal is also a good upasaka who has small veda pathasala. This veda pathasala is opposite to Ramoji Film City, Hayathnagar. This veda pathasala sports with Marakata Siva Linga, Kamakshi devi with Marakata Sriyantra. But Shri Avadhanigal is quite busy in teaching veda and organising spiritual camps to Nepal, Badari, Kasi etc. Apart from these, there are upasakas who don't proclaim on rooftops about their upasana. Neither they are interested in mandalis, kumkumarchanas, road shows, pomp etc. As, the Sahasranama says " Antarmukha samArAdhyA bahirmukha sudurlabhA " , they are SILENT YOGIS who confine themselves in their own homes. One such person is my gurunatha but unfortunately he passed away last year. with regards, sriram , " rganti9 " <rganti9 wrote: > > Sri Gurubhyon Namaha > Dear ambal Brothers/Sisters I am eager to know of > any srividya upasaks in hyderabad, so that i can get in touch with them > and see if i can attend any of their poojas, about myself, my name is > Raghavender R Ganti, and i am a resident of Medhipatnam Hyderabad, The > upasana of Siva and Lalitha has been going on in my family from way > long. They have a peetham at home called, Siva sakthi peetham. His name is satya Datta (if i am not wrong) as we call him datta mavayya....I dont know to what parampara he belongs to. Superb place to visit...and his archana is worth seeing with all mudras. He lives in the HAL colony and works for HAL higher secodary school as sanskrit teacher. I am not aware of any of his quarter number or contact numbers.
