Guest guest
Shri Giridhar Sastry has compiled the Siva Panchayatana vidhi (as per sringeri sampradaya) which is a very pramanika book. You can get it in Sringeri Book Stalls. The front cover is Bharati tirtha performing devatarchana and the back side would be abhinava vidya tirtha. The cost is Rs.40/-. It has laghu panchayatana vidhi which takes about 20-25 minutes with the riks of purusha sukta. Otherwise, one can follow the gayatri mantra / pranava with vyahriti traya (om bhurbhuvasuvah) / hamsa mantra for all the 16 upacharas. ie., om bhurbhuvasuvah - sambasada siva panchayatana devetabhyo namah ...avahayami (similarly rest of the upacharas). or Gayatri Mantra - Sambasadasiva devatabhyo namah ----(16 upacharas) still, if you don't have time, entire purusha sukta can be chanted once and the bhavana of 16 upacharas alongwith the purusha sukta parayana can be though of mentally which is also pramanika. But i personally use the book of Sringeri compiled by Shri Giridhar Sastry. regs, sriram , Sridhar Seshagiri <s_seshagiri wrote: > > --- On Tue, 2/3/09, yashdrasunresh <yashdrasunresh wrote: > > > yashdrasunresh <yashdrasunresh > > > I shall be grateful if anyone knows of books in English on > > Shiva and > > Devi panchayatana puja please. > > > > Sri Guru Datta > > Yashdra > > > > , vishwanthan Krishnamoorthy > > <krishvishy@> wrote: > > > > > > There are a few books > > > 1. Guest guest
namaste, Generally speaking, most books on daily rituals for use by smArta-s will include a pancAyatana pUjA prayoga. Look for titles like nityAhnikam, brahma-karma-samuccaya etc. Here are four publications that stand out - (a) nityAhnikam by anantarAma shAstry (R.S.Vadhyar & Sons). Kerala Palghat tradition. A very nice procedure with vaidika mantra-s, available through Giri Trading. In the US, its available from Arsha-vidya ( http://books.arshavidya.org/cgi-bin/process/shop/display/item?prrfnbr=27029) (b) pUjA vidhAnam by giridhara shAstry. Sringeri tradition. Nice supplementary mantra collections, along with the aShTottara-nAMAvali for each devatA. The lalitAShTottaranAmAvaliH is particularly nice. © AshvalAyana brahma karma samuccaya (Pune series, available in Sringeri area book stalls) (d) bodhAyanIya ve.nkaTeshIya prayoga (Karnataka Havyaka tradition). This one has elaborate pUjA-s for each devatA including nyAsa, mantra japa, navashakti / dvAdasha-nAma pUjA and AvaraNa pUjA. The pancAyatana procedure from this compendium is also republished in the booklet 'panchAyatana devara pUjA' by shankaranArAyana bhaTTa (Kannada script only). This booklet has a large introduction, explaining each step. bhavadIyaH, ajit > > yashdrasunresh <yashdrasunresh > > > I shall be grateful if anyone knows of books in English on > > Shiva and > > Devi panchayatana puja please. > > > > Sri Guru Datta > > Yashdra > >
