Guest guest
Dear members, Apart from Srisukta, AsyavAmIya Sukta, another interesting sukta which draws my attention is " Manyu Sukta " . The Manyu Sukta forms a part of 10th Mandala of Rg Veda. They consist of 2 suktas with 7 riks each ie., 7 + 7 = 14 riks. The Bhairava Tantra explores the Manyu Yantra Lekhana Vidhi alongwith its Upasana paddhati with 14 rks of this Manyu Sukta. Apart from the Manyu Yantra Upasana, this 14 riks are used for Nitya Parayana using the Hanumad Mantra which is given below. There is a procedure called " pAda archa " , " ardha archa " and " pUrna archa " . Each rk / mantra is divided into 4 pAdAs. And every 2 pAdAs are called " ardha " . And the entire rk of 4 pAdAs is called " pUrna " . So, the Hanumad Mantra, Manyu Gayatri, Rg Vedic Mantras (mentioned below) and Manyu Mula Mantra is to be suffixed and prefixed at the " pAda " which becomes " pAda archa " . The same mantras done to 2 pAdAs, is called " ardhA archa " . The same mantras added to entire rik (single mantra out of 14) becomes " pUrna archa " . For example, the 1st rik of Manyu Sukta runs as: yastE manyO vidhatvajra sAyaka - saha ojah puShyAti viShwA mAnuShak sAhyA madAsa mAryaM - tvayA yuja sahaskritEna sahasA sahasvatA pAda archa runs as: om Am yam ram khEm khEm - yastE manyO vidhatvajra sAyaka ehi ehi Am hrIm harimarkaTa hrIm shrIm markaTAya swAha - krOm hrIm yam ram khEm khEm shatrAvah parAjitAso apanilayantAm - am anjanIsutAya vidmahE - vAyuputrAya dhImahi - hrIm - tannO hanumah prachodayAt - krOm - yam - ram - khEm - khEm // ava brahmadviShOjahi // om Am yam ram khEm khEm - saha ojah puShyAti viShwA mAnuShak ehi ehi Am hrIm harimarkaTa hrIm shrIm markaTAya swAha - krOm hrIm yam ram khEm khEm shatrAvah parAjitAso apanilayantAm - am anjanIsutAya vidmahE - vAyuputrAya dhImahi - hrIm - tannO hanumah prachodayAt - krOm - yam - ram - khEm - khEm // ava brahmadviShOjahi // om Am yam ram khEm khEm - sAhyA madAsa mAryaM ehi ehi Am hrIm harimarkaTa hrIm shrIm markaTAya swAha - krOm hrIm yam ram khEm khEm shatrAvah parAjitAso apanilayantAm - am anjanIsutAya vidmahE - vAyuputrAya dhImahi - hrIm - tannO hanumah prachodayAt - krOm - yam - ram - khEm - khEm // ava brahmadviShOjahi // om Am yam ram khEm khEm - tvayA yuja sahaskritEna sahasA sahasvatA ehi ehi Am hrIm harimarkaTa hrIm shrIm markaTAya swAha - krOm hrIm yam ram khEm khEm shatrAvah parAjitAso apanilayantAm - am anjanIsutAya vidmahE - vAyuputrAya dhImahi - hrIm - tannO hanumah prachodayAt - krOm - yam - ram - khEm - khEm // ava brahmadviShOjahi // ARDHA ARCHA om Am yam ram khEm khEm - yastE manyO vidhatvajra sAyaka - saha ojah puShyAti viShwA mAnuShak ehi ehi Am hrIm harimarkaTa hrIm shrIm markaTAya swAha - krOm hrIm yam ram khEm khEm shatrAvah parAjitAso apanilayantAm - am anjanIsutAya vidmahE - vAyuputrAya dhImahi - hrIm - tannO hanumah prachodayAt - krOm - yam - ram - khEm - khEm rOhantu sarvabIjAn - nyava brahmadviShOjahi om Am yam ram khEm khEm - sAhyA madAsa mAryaM - tvayA yuja sahaskritEna sahasA sahasvatA ehi ehi Am hrIm harimarkaTa hrIm shrIm markaTAya swAha - krOm hrIm yam ram khEm khEm shatrAvah parAjitAso apanilayantAm - am anjanIsutAya vidmahE - vAyuputrAya dhImahi - hrIm - tannO hanumah prachodayAt - krOm - yam - ram - khEm - khEm rOhantu sarvabIjAn - nyava brahmadviShOjahi PURNA ARCHA om Am yam ram khEm khEm - yastE manyO vidhatvajra sAyaka - saha ojah puShyAti viShwA mAnuShak sAhyA madAsa mAryaM - tvayA yuja sahaskritEna sahasA sahasvatA om Am yam ram khEm khEm - // samsruShTam dhanam ubhayam samAkrita - masmatbhyam dattam varuNaShcha manyuh bhiyam dadhAna hridayeShu - satrAvah parAjitAso apanilayantAm // // ehi ehi Am hrIm harimarkaTa hrIm shrIm markaTAya swAha - krOm hrIm yam ram khEm khEm shatrAvah parAjitAso apanilayantAm - am anjanIsutAya vidmahE - vAyuputrAya dhImahi - hrIm - tannO hanumah prachodayAt - krOm - yam - ram - khEm - khEm // //bhiyam dadhAna hridayeShu - satrAvah parAjitAso apanilayantAm// //am anjanIsutAya vidmahE - vAyuputrAya dhImahi - hrIm - tannO hanumah prachodayAt - krOm - yam - ram - khEm - khEm Am // // varShantutE vibhAvari - divo abhrasya vidyutah rOhantu sarvabIjAn - nyava brahmadviShOjahi // // piShamgabhriShTimambhriNam - piShAchi mindra samruNa - sarvam rakSho nibarhaya // // manyu rAjAya vidmahE - mahArudrAya dhImahi tannO manyuh prachOdayAt // // iShTam raksha raksha - ariShTam bhanjaya bhanjaya// //KrOm// So, rest of all the 13 riks have to be chanted in this manner. This is " HANUMAD MANTRA SAMPUTIKARA VIDHANA MANYU SUKTA PARAYANA VIDHI " . The mantra drashta / seer of this sukta is " Manyu " rishi who is the son of Tapo Muni and the presiding deity of this sukta is also " Manyu " . There was an outbreak of civil war in the kingdom and it seems a certain king sought refuge of the Seer Manyu. The Sage Manyu contemplated on the " Presiding Deity of Anger " that could counter the attack of Kritya Prayoga. Sage Manyu envisioned this Sukta and immediately 14 riks gushed out from him. And the result was that the enemies who attacked the king fled alongwith their army. This was reflected in the last rik which forms the mula mantra of Manyu Sukta : // samsruShTam dhanam ubhayam samAkrita - masmatbhyam dattam varuNaShcha manyuh bhiyam dadhAna hridayeShu - satrAvah parAjitAso apanilayantAm // A copy of the upasana paddhati alongwith the Manyu Yantra is compiled by my gurunatha with the help of Bhairava Tantra and old manuscripts preserved by his father. regs, sriram
