Guest guest
A very good acquaintance of mine sent me this some 3 years back. I am surprised that it never occured to me to post it to the list.(Or did I..?) Anyway the stotra with an English translation can be found in the files section with the name Younger ShatarudrIya. It is almost like a shloka/paurANic version of rudraM. Those like me who do not qualify(because of varNa dharma) for saying rudraM can use this. Here is an example shloka from the same: " Those who dwell in rivers, in oceans, in mountains, in caves, in the roots of trees, in cow-pens and in inaccessible forest; " Just like the way the vedic rudraM is. A note on this by the same person: ----- " As for the rudra namaskAraM (that we term the younger shatarudriya) is seen inserted in the shAnti parvan of many recensions of the mahAbhArata (including that used by K Ganguli but not the " critical edition " ). It is also found in king bhoja the paramAra's prakasha's colophon, the AV parishiShTha on the pAshupata vrata. The R^ishi is said to be ajAnana dakSha prajapati It is missing in the Neglein-Bolling published version though. I will send you the whole thing of 108+1 sholka a little later (I still need to translate it as Ganguli's is not fully accurate). "
