Guest guest
The prAtah and sAyam sandhyAs are governed by the prana and apana sanchAra at hridaya and brahmarandhra. The prAtah kAla : When the prana rupa surya/sun rises at hridaya sthana and sets at brahmarandhra which is termed as " prAthah kAlA " rAtri : When the apAna rupa chandrama / moon rises at Brahmarandhra and settles down at Hridaya sthana is termed as rAtri. This prAna-apAna rupa usha-rAtri is a continous process in the form of day and night which in the process form 2 sandhyas called prAtah & sAyam sandhya. The kulAmrita-srAva or oozing of nector in chandramandala occurs during the night as the sun swallows every kala on the corresponding tithi as and when the moon releases its kala. And hence, antaryaga is prescribed *only during the night* and *not in the daytime*. The time taken for the apAna to descend from Brahmarandhra to Hridaya sthana is called " prashwAsa " (inhaling of breath). The time taken for the prAna to ascend from Hridaya to Brahmarandhra is 16 truti (16 microseconds approx..) which is called " Nishwasa " (exhaling of single breath). Now, the japa should be in such a way that the mantra nada should be in communion with prana at hridaya sthana. If the mantra is taken from siddha purusha, during the ascent of prana from hridaya the mantra chaitanya when touches the brahmarandhra pierces the sahasrara chakra and kapala bheda siddhi is achieved. Or else, it is like repetition of *mere words* that *lack mantra virya and chaitanya*. During such moments, the mantra nada along with prana ascends 18 angushta pramanas and get stuck up at bhrukuti sthana. Unable to pierce the rudra grandhi, looses its way and takes the wrong path some of the mantra chaitanya gets accumulated at this sthana till 6 angushta pramanas. Agains the remaining prana along with mantra chaitanya with the help of ida and pingala, the prana with mantra chaitanya ascends till brahmarandhra till remaining 12 angushta pramanas. Unable to pierce the brahmarandhra, the mantra nada with prana gets stuck up at this point with the expanse of 12 angushta pramanas. Due to lack of proper guidance, the prana does not settle down here thereby disturbs the nADi manDala. In this way " mantra virya " is wasted everyday due to *lack of the guidance of satguru* and the entire sadhana is a *waste of time*. Tantra sastra describes these stages of prana utkramaNa as: 1) Abudha : When prana sakti along with mantra virya gets dissipated and waste, that stage is called Abudha 2) BudhyamAn : When prana is in communion with Mantra virya and nada at hridaya sthana, it is called BudhyamAn 3) Budha : When the prAna ascends alongwith Nada and Mantra virya upwards till sahasrara, it is called Budha 4) Prabuddha : When prana and mantra nada ascends and attains the state of " vyApini " , it is Prabuddha. At this stage of Prabhuddha, the mind slips into *Unmani* avastha and pierces the Brahmarandhra and prana sanchAra expands 12 agnushta pramanas above brahmarandhra. For such a person who has achieved the sahasrara-bhedana, the prana gamana or prana sanchara takes place in 108 angushtana pramanas in the pindanda. Keeping in view of this 108 angushta pramana prAna-vyapti, the mantra japa of *108* is prescribed. For the ordinary people the sanchara is 96 angushta pramanas. This *unmani* bhava is only achieved when the brahmarandhra is pierced and mano-laya is achieved. To abide in this *unmani* avastha is the *shunya* of saktas. This *unmani* forms the 6th shunyas among the 6 shunyas namely 1) Adhah shunya 2) Madhya Shunya 3) Urdhwa Shunya 4) Vyapini Shunya 5) Samana Shunya, 6) Unmani Shunya. But even this *unmani* has to be crossed to achieve the state of *mahashunya*. with regards, sriram Add more friends to your messenger and enjoy!
