Guest guest
Sankara mostly debated with adherents of puurva miimaamsa. By the time of this avatara - kumarila in north and Saivite nAyanmars in south had cleared out the dominance of naastika darshana-s such as jaina and bouddha. Namasthe. I am really confused with the bouddha avatara. Though Buddha was a Nastika,he is regarded as an Avatar By Hindus and during my recent trips to Kaasi,Allahabad and gaya to perform pitru karmas, reference to Buddha Avatara takes a prominent spot in sankalpas done in all these holy palces before doing pitru pujas . Somewhere in Dasa Maha Vidya also Buddha avatar is equated and this I faintly remember in the book wriiten by Pujya Dr. Goda Sastrigal. pl clarify.
