Guest guest
Sri Gurubhyon Namaha Dear Ambal brothers\ I have a query, some aged and learned person told me that reading stotras?and doing pooja following the procedures written by ones own writing is uttamam, i.e reciting sahsranamamas etc written in ones own writing is better than reading from printed books, can any of our learned members clarify on this Sri Kamakshi Raghavender
Guest guest
Dear raghav, Namaste. That rule is there for chandi sapthasati for that varahi tantra is the pramana. *na swayaM likhitaM stotraM nAbrAhmaNalipiM paThet* ie. One should not recite the Devi Mahatmya from his own handwritten copy or from a copy written by a non-Brahmana. Regarding method of worship and chanting of stotras, it is a good practice to get a nod from one's gurunatha. Regarding the mode of worship, if it is sriyantra worship, then YES, one's gurunatha is the final authority for this. regs, sriram , raghavender ganti <rganti9 wrote: > > Sri Gurubhyon Namaha > Dear Ambal brothers\ > I have a query, some aged and learned person told me that reading stotras?and doing pooja following the procedures written by ones own writing is uttamam, i.e reciting sahsranamamas etc written in ones own writing is better than reading from printed books, can any of our learned members clarify on this > > Sri Kamakshi > Raghavender >

It need not be misunderstood that they are not supposed to write it. The devi mahatya text should be obtained from the guru i.e., He should be Initiated and he should receive the text from the guru. He cannot write his own text (for the sake of mistakes )in modern context buying his own book and reading it by himself can be considered as writing his own copy.
