Guest guest
Could any of the learned members shed light on the relationship of temple architecture, design and human body? Thaayumaanavar, a Tamil savant, has a couplet that goes like: " my heart is the temple, my thoughts are the fragrances (and flowers) offered, love is the sacred waters; God Almighty, come and receive my puja " . There has been repeated references to the connection and mapping between human body, temple design etc. Unfortunately I am much away from the books and references while having promised some group of people to expand on this. Thanks, -gopal
Guest guest
The human body, the temple land (area) and the moolavar in the temple are all related with 96 tatways(shannavathi or energies of God and Goddesses) and therefore they are to be the same. Unless this is followed the sannidhyam will not be there. The Garbha Raksha Nyasam is also based on 96 tatwaws and even maha meru is based on 96 tatwas. Guest guest
Dear gopal, Shri SK Ramachander Rao, who requires no introduction, has compiled a wonderful volume of books on Agama. There are several Agama series, and one of the book is about Agama Sastra, Vastu Mandala which details out the mapping of Temple Architecture and human body. Books are available in Hyderabad. Next time when you come to India, shoot a private mail. I will arrange for the xerox copy of the book. regs, sriram , gopal_gopinath wrote: > > > > > Could any of the learned members shed light on the relationship of > temple architecture, design and human body? > > Thaayumaanavar, a Tamil savant, has a couplet that goes like: > > " my heart is the temple, my thoughts are the fragrances (and flowers) offered, love is the sacred waters; God Almighty, come and receive my > puja " .
