Hi,

Very recently ambal showed her anugraham to visit her shrine in kancheepuram.

Though I have no idea that ambal abhishekam is done twice a day, I was one of

the lucky one to get a chance to perform abhishekam as some one cancelled in the

last minute..

I havent heard any mantram recited during the abhishekam. I have observed that

the priests are quite and did the abhishegam very fast. Infact I was actually

expecting...sri suktam, durga suktam etc . I observed that no mantram

was recited while giving different arathis also.

Being one of the most powerful shakti peethams (moksha puri) in india..I was

surprised and dint had the courage to ask the priest over there due to language

problem..

I heard that the acharam and puja vidhanam followed in kanchi temple is framed

by durvAso maha muni...did he framed without any mantram or are all those are

rahasya mantras which should not be recited loud.?

Regards

Gopala K Talluri

?????????????????????????????????? I have been blessed by amba to have her

darshan at Kanchipuram quite a few times, and i know the priests there

personally, all of them are srividya upasakas who have been running this on for

generations, and even their kids have fogone opportunities to go abroad as they

believe if one goes abroad, he loses the privilige of touching ambal. I do agree

that there are no chantings during the abishekam, the priests mutter in them

selves and the suvarna abishekam is done from the water in kalasham that is

established initially in the right hand corner of the mantapam. the first

abishekam is done to the sri chakram infront of the devatha, it was established

by sage durvasa himself, and i feel it is Ambas grace that i was allowed to get

close to it and see it, and the lines and marking are visible clearly even after

eons. And this is the lady i love most. I dont know but i get an emotional

burst when some one talks about Kamakshi ambal or kanchi. Hope to see her soon

by her will.

The Kanchi matam follows dhurvasa paddathi of avarana puja which has no

" Tarpayami " .

Even in the temple, I am told they do nava avarana puja similarly.
